Jay woke up the next morning with a pounding headache, he rolled out of bed and stood up. He then walked to the bathroom and splashed water on his face. He then remembered the events of the previous night. Voight had texted saying to take the day off but Jay wanted to go in. He slipped on a shirt, paired with some jeans and started to walk out. He arrived at the district a short time later.
"No Voight today?" Jay asked as he sat down
"Nope, took a personal day" Upton adds
"However he left this note saying that he left Mal in charge" Kevin says as he hands Mallory the note
"Me? Why am I in charge? You've been on the unit longer than me?" Mallory adds as she looks at Antonio
"Hey! Your smart! Go work it! Sargent Davis!" Antonio adds as Mallory laughs
"Your going to do great" Jay says as Mallory smiles
It's an hour later and Mallory walks in with some mug shots in her hand
"Scott Brown! Ex felon, did time for drug dealing" Mallory adds as she pins his mug shot onto the board
"Who's that?" Upton asks
"The man who killed Erin Lindsay" Mallory explains as Jays expression gets angrier
"Well where is this bastard?!" Adam yells
"9th street, let's roll!" Mallory orders as Jay gets up
Mallory then stood Jay and pulls him aside
"What the hell?!" Jay yells
"I'm not letting you go, your too close to the victim!" Mallory yells
"Is this because of last night?" Jay asks
"No! Your were drunk! And I was there! Now sit your ass down!" Mallory yells
"Fine!" Jay screams as he sits back down
Mallory runs out and they catch the guy. They then put him in holding
"Who's doing the interrogation?" Upton asks
" I am" Mallory orders as she walks in
"What the hell am I here for?" Scott asks
"You and I both know why your here!" Mallory yells as she takes a seat
"Enlighten me!" Scott asks, cockily
"This woman! You know her?" Mallory asks as she places a picture of Erin on the table
"Oh! That's that bitch of a cop!" Scott yells
"So you chose to kill her? She left behind a family! She left behind a unit! She left behind her boyfriend! Who is in pieces! Do you know how hard it was for me? Telling him that his girlfriend isn't coming home?!" Mallory yells as she smacks her hands off the table
"The bitch had it coming!" Scott yells as she slaps him
"If that's how it is then have fun in prison!" Mallory yells before walking out
"Hey you good?" Upton asks as Mallory closes the door
"Always am" Mallory adds as she starts to walk away but Upton grabs her hand
"I'm here, okay? If you need to talk?" Upton adds softly
"Thanks Upton, means a lot" Mallory adds before letting go of her hand
Mallory then bumps into Jay
"Are we going to talk about this?" He asks as he stirs his coffee
"What is there to talk about Jay? You were drunk and grieving! And I was there! You don't have feelings for me Jay! Stop pretending that you do!" Mallory yells
"Mal" Jay says
"Don't! Were never going to happen!" Mallory yells as she walks out...
