Shay comes back and takes over for Trudy. Trudy and Mouch are walking out and Trudy is overly happy
"What's got you so happy?" Mouch asks
"Oh nothing" Trudy says unable to wipe the smile off her face
"Please, Mrs doom and Gloom is never happy" Mouch says as he stops her
"Mallory called me mom!" Trudy says happily
"What! That's great sweetie" Mouch says as he smiles
It's the next morning and Mallory is being discharged from the hospital. Shay has picked her up and drove her home.
"Are you trying to kill me?!" Mallory shouts as shay takes a sharp turn
"Sorry, so used to driving the ambo" Shay adds
"And I'm used to driving at 80 MPH, with flashing lights on in a fancy BMW! You don't see me driving as if I'm gonna catch a murderer!" Mallory states
"Noted" Shay adds as Mallory laughs
Shay drops Mallory off and then heads to work. She sits and catches up on her shows until she looks at the clock. It's only 11am. She decides to get up and grab some donuts for the district and firehouse. She drops them off at the firehouse first
"Hey mal" Kelly says as he spots her walking up
"Hey Severide" Mallory says as he pulls her in for a hug
"I brought donuts!" Mallory says as she holds up the box
"Great I think the guys need their sugar intake today" Kelly says as he laughs
Mallory and Kelly walk in and put the donuts on the table
"Is that what I think it is?" Cruz asks
"It is! She brought us donuts!" Cruz adds as he opens the box
The guys all run up and grab a donut
"Shay's out on a call but she should be back soon" Kelly says as he takes a bite of his donut
"It's okay, I'll catch her later anyway" Mallory says as she smiles and walks out
Mallory then drives to the district and takes her badge just in case. She knows Trudy isn't working this morning. She walks in and gets stoped immediately
"Sorry miss you can't go up there!" A cop shouts
Mallory turns around to look at him
"That's for detectives only. And trust me we all wish we worked up there! But we don't all have the skills" The cop lectures
"Okay" Mallory sighs as she holds up her badge
"Oh sorry" The cop adds
Mallory smiles and puts the code in and walks up
"Mallory!" Adam shouts as she smiles
"I come baring donuts!" Mallory says as she pops the donuts on her desk
"Your the best!" Kevin adds as he grabs a donut
"I know" Malory says as she laughs
