"Are you sure your ready?" Shay asks as she makes her bed
"Positive shay" Mallory replies as she ties up her hair
"But the doctors said you wouldn't be able to return" Shay adds as she looks at Mallory
"Shay I'm gonna beat the system!" Mallory adds as she folds her clothes
"Mal! Look at me" Shay says as she takes Mallory's hands
"What" Mallory replies as she looks at shay
"Be careful okay?" Shay says
"I always am" Mallory adds before giving shay a kiss
Mallory makes her way down to the hospital and waits in the waiting room
"Let me guess paramedic?" A man whispers
"Huh?" Mallory adds as she looks at him
"Your a paramedic? Recovering from an injury?" The man adds
"Recovering from an injury yes, a paramedic however no" Mallory says as she laughs
"Im Dean, a firefighter" Dean says as he shakes Mallory's hand
"Mallory, I'm a cop or detective whatever you wanna call it" Mallory adds
"So why are you here?" Dean asks
"I got kidnapped by my old adoptive father and he basically beat me up" Mallory adds as she smiles
"That sounds.." Dean says lost for words
"Dreadful? Yeah! Why are you here?" Mallory asks
"The usual. Stuck in a fire. Bookcase fell on me and caused internal bleeding" Dean says as Mallory smiles
"So your trying to get cleared too?" Mallory asks
"Yep!" Dean adds
"Dean Hudson?" The doctor shouts
"That's me!" He says as he gets up
"Break a leg" Mallory whispers
"Don't tempt me" Dean adds as he smiles at walks off
Mallory sits and waits until she sees Dean walk out
"I passed!" He shouts
"Ahh! That's great Dean!" Mallory says as she smiles
"Detective Mallory Davis?" The doctor says
"A title and everything! Break a leg!" Dean says as Mallory smiles and goes with the doctor
Dean decides to sit and wait for Mallory
Mallory walks in shaking and she sits down
"Okay first exercise" The doctor says
Mallory does all of her exercises perfectly
"Well done Detective. You passed. Your free to go back to active duty tomorrow" The doctor says as Mallory smiles
"Thank you so much!" Mallory says as she grabs her bag and heads out
"So?" Dean asks
Mallory stands their with a disappointed look on her face
"I'm so sorry Mallory, I'm sure you'll pass next time" Dean says as he places a comforting hand on her shoulder
"I passed!" Mallory shouts happily
"Hey! That's great!" Welch says as he playfully hits her shoulder
"So what firehouse are you at?" Mallory asks as they start to walk out
"I was at 67 but I'm staring at 51 this summer" Dean says as Mallory smiles
"I know a lot of people at 51, I'm sure you'll love it there" Mallory says as they reach her car
"So I'll cya" Dean says
"Thank you for helping me today. If you ever find yourself murdering someone. Give me a call" Malory says as she gets in her car
Dean waves as she drives off
