Brea's P.O.V.
Tonight was beautiful. I stood and rest my arms on my balcony to look around at the city as I let the cool wind hit my face.
The buildings and streetlights were glowing as always. Cars were passing by on the road. Nights like this usually hit me all the time.
It helps me realize that, some people should appreciate how life can be. It's beautiful. Even though, it could be a pain at times. Like now.
"Alright, I got the drinks!" Delaney announced with excitement as she opened our sliding door.
I took a deep breath and turned out with a smile. I don't want to ruin the moment. Especially on this night when it's hitting different. "I know that's right!" I added on.
The both of us flopped on our small couches on the balcony. Delaney grabbed our corkscrew from her pocket and used it to open our wine bottle.
"You want to hear something funny?" She asked.
"Sure." I replied as she began to pour our drinks in our wine glasses.
"So Peng and I broke into Tai's job to come visit you guys on set." She confessed.
I froze and gave her a confused look. "Huh? There's no way that actually happened." I said in disbelief. She pulled out her phone and showed me a video of her and Peng being chaotic at the shooting.
"Wow..I didn't even see y'all. You should've called or text me!" I pleaded.
"That's true, but I wanted it to be a surprise. That couldn't happen because Peng and I got caught so we had to skedaddle." She replied. I chuckled a bit because I can actually see this happening myself.
Those two together reminds me of Laney's and I friend group from high school. It's good to meet someone that is similar to them. It's been a while since we saw all of them together.
"Anyways bestie, besides the chaos that Peng and I caused earlier, I just want to say that I'm extremely proud of you. You came a very long way and defeated a bunch of obstacles. I've watched you grown ever since we met and how passionate you've always been when it comes to your writing. You are still an inspiration to not only I, but your family. God definitely had a plan for you and this is just the beginning! So cheers, to a start of something new!" Delaney spoke as she raised her glass in the air.
"Awe...did you cut onions?" I said as I felt my eyes starting to water.
She began to burst out with laughter. "I haven't heard that saying is so long." She stated. I haven't as well but it somehow came out of me. I grabbed my glass from our coffee table and raised it up in the air. "Thank you for this Laney. Thank you for still being by my side with everything. I really appreciate this and everything else that you have done for me. If it wasn't for you, I don't know how I would be." I said with a smile and felt a little emotional.
"No problem Bre! It's always been the same with you. We gotta stick together no matter what!" She exclaimed.
At the end of the day, it's always her that I have by my side. I just wish someone could be like her. I could feel my smile starting to fade little by little as he a grand entrance in my mind.
It's a shame to know that someone who you got attached too and grown closer with had turned out to be a traitor. Why did things have to happen this way? I wish I was able to celebrate with him as well since he did help me out the most with this project. "
Cheers!" Delaney announced.
I snapped out of it quickly and came back to reality.
"Cheers." I responded.
