Always and Forever

Chapter 10

Once Alaric and Lizzie had finally gotten Josie to the emergency rooms. Alaric had to leave to deal with the damage and injured students. "Stay with your sister. When she wakes up she's going to need you even if she won't act like it."

He hugs her and kisses Josie on the forehead then leaves.

Hope, Mg, Rafael, and Kaleb enter the room with worried faces.  "How is she doing?" Mg asks.

"She hasn't woken up yet. But i doubt she will feel better once she remembers that Penelope's gone." Lizzie says not looking away from Josie. Mg puts his head down remembering that one of his good friends had died.

"What are we going to do now?" Kaleb asks blankly.

"We make sure Penelope's parents know. We do a funeral. And once Josie wakes up we have to be there for her. Josie will try her best to push people away and act fine. That's her specialty. But we won't let her push us away." Lizzie tells them brushing Josies hair out of her face.

"How did the fire even happen?" Hope folds her arms over her chest.

Lizzie sighs.

"We don't know. We were dancing and then everyone started running out and then some parts of the building started to fall apart. This one part fell and that's when we realized it was a big fire. None of us know how the fire even started." Mg explains.

Josie starts groaning and moving around in the hospital bed. Kaleb and Lizzie gets up from their seats and they all gather around Josie.

Josie then shoots up from the bed and gasps.

"Jo"

Josie looks around "Penelope! Where is Penelope." Josie cries out. "Jo..." Lizzie tries to comfort her but Josie gets off the bed taking off all the needles that were injected in her. "Where is she!" She yells out.

"She's gone Jo..." Mg tells her. "You need to calm down okay" He grabs her by the arms and sits her in the bed. "No sh-she can't be gone." Josie can barely say anything because of the knot that's forming in her throat.

"I'm so sorry Jo." Hope walks towards Josie and puts her hands on her arms, Josie starts to cry. Hope wraps her arms around Josie and just let's Josie cry into her shoulder while the rest keep their head down and watch.

After Josie stops crying she wipes all her tears away and gets up. "Jo where are you going?" Lizzie tells Josie. "Penelope is dead. I have to pack her things to send to her family. And i need to do it alone." She says with a blank face.

"I'm so sorry."

Josie nods her head and walks out. She goes to the storage room and grabs a few cardboard boxes. She walks through the halls and everyone is looking at her. She just keeps her head down and makes her way to Penelope's room.

Once she's at Penelope's door she's about to start knocking but she remembers that Penelope won't be there to answer the door so she stops midway. Then returns the knot in her throat but she decides to ignore it.

She places her hand on the door knob and she takes a big gulp. She stops for a second thinking if this will be a good idea for herself. She twists the door knob and pushes the door open.

She walks through the door and her nostrils are immediately filled with Penelope's scent. Penelope's bed isn't made but the room is clean. She goes through Penelope's closet she sets the cardboard boxes down and opens one up.

She starts putting Penelope's shoes in there. She laughs at how many high heels Penelope had. She then moves on to Penelope's shirts. This is the hard part because they're are mostly filled with Penelope's scent.
