"JO!" Lizzie screams, that's the last thing i hear when i see an arrow go right through josie's shoulder and she gets pulled back out of the circle roughly, before we can do anything or even say anything the bright light appears and i shut my eyes as the bright light takes over my vision.
i open my eyes and the ascendant falls in the floor and shattered everywhere.
It's like someone slapped the ascendant out of my hands so hard.
we're back in our world.
without josie.
"no no no no no this cannot be happening!" lizzie says falling to the floor picking up the pieces of the ascendant trying to hold in her tears "lizzie..." i say slowly walking up to her, i lightly touch lizzie's shoulder trying to stop her and calm her down
but she doesn't respond, she just keeps trying to pick up the pieces
she's so scared that her hands are shaking so much to the point where she can't even pick up the pieces of the ascendant because they keep shaking out of her hands
"we have to go tell your dad right now lizzie!" i say grabbing her shoulders and pulling her up making her drop the pieces of the ascendant
"what the hell!?!" lizzie says getting out of my grip
the words come out shakily out of her mouth, she already has tears running down her face "lizzie please! we need to tell your dad right now!" i yell out
"Josie hurt lizzie and she can't stay over there someone has her! lizzie we need to tell your dad to help us get her out" i shout , those words seem to calm lizzie down only a little bit.
"okay then let's go!" lizzie says then runs to the salvatore school and i run along with her
we enter and lizzie runs straight into her fathers office, she bursts opens the door and to lizzie's surprise she catches her father and emma making out on his desk.
"EW" Lizzie yells out making emma and alaric jump away from each other, alaric has red lipstick smudged all over his face "gross." i whisper
"lizzie!? when did you get back! where's josie?" alaric says walking over to lizzie and giving her an awkward side hug
he pulls away and walks back to stand next to emma
"dad we have really bad news and emma as much as i think u should leave u need to hear this too"
alaric and emma look at each other and they sit down on the chairs like kids who got caught stealing candy.
i'm pretty sure they think it's about them
"dad." lizzie sits in the chair next to him. she grabs his hand and holds it. she knows that the second she tells alaric about kai taking josie he's gonna freak.
after everything kai has done to his life, i know he will go to the ends of the earth to get her back and kill him for good
she takes a deep breath "josie's gone." lizzie says sounding like she's about to cry
"wh-what? what do you mean shes gone?"
"kai took her."
"WHAT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN KAI TOOK HER!?" he yells out standing up "dad. sit down please."
"NO LIZZIE! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!? I THOUGHT U GUYS WENT TO A NEW WORLD?!WHERE NO ONE IS THERE !" me and lizzie flinch at his yelling
"alaric we don't know. i swear we did the spell to take us to a different world. someone must've tampered with the ascendant because that's the only way that this could've happened." i tell him
he locks his jaw "what happened?" he says in a soft hurt tone
"we had successfully hid the sandclock and we were getting ready to go home, mid way of doing the spell to go home" lizzie sighs "all i just see is an arrow go through josie's shoulder and she gets pulled back out the circle roughly, and then behind her i see kai's face."
"then the second that happens the ascendant drops and breaks and me and hope are here."
"oh my god." emma says
"i don't even know if josie's still alive." the second lizzie said those words, it hit. I could lose her. After everything josie's helped me through and the stuff we did together, she was like my bestfriend
and i could lose her.
"i'm going to kill him." alaric says "dad. how do we get her back, hell how do we even get back there." lizzie tells him, tears are starting to form in her eyes
"i don't know sweetheart, right now at this moment we have no way to go back there but for now all we can do is try to astro project to the world, we could see if josie's okay. alive." alaric says he walks towards one of his locked cabinets and pulls out a key
he unlocks the cabinet and the whole cabinet is full with alcohol. he pulls out a bottle of bourbon and grabs a glass cup
he pours some bourbon in the cup and takes a sip
"for now you girls find out who tampered with the ascendant. emma help me find out how this could've happened." he says sitting in his chair
"okay." i say "let's go liz" i say walking out the office with lizzie "we have to tell mg and the others to help us find out who's responsible." lizzie tells me
"my question is how the hell did someone tamper with the ascendant, like how did they manage to make us go to kai's world." i tell her, we walk into a hall that leads to the cafeteria.
"i don't know but i just hope my sister is alive."
