Always and Forever

Chapter 28

Hope and Josie are driving in silence, they don't wanna talk about what had happened with landon.

josie looks at hope and she is just looking out the window.

staring at the sky lost in her thoughts

they've spent all day looking but they only found 2 parts of the ascendant, both girls are hoping that mg and lizzie found more parts

so now they are just driving to another location that alaric had told them to go

the sun is about to set and it's going to be dark soon. the girls haven't eaten yet so they are desperate to look for the rest of the parts for the ascendant, so they can go home to finally eat and rest

Josie notices a small tear rolling down hopes cheek

"hope" Josies says breaking the silence between them

hope doesn't turn her head at her name being called "yes" is all that she says still staring at the sky

"are you okay?" josie asks concerned

"mhm."

Josie sighs and pauses, then she pulls over to the side of the road and turns off the car which causes hope to look at josie

"why'd you stop?" hope speaks up confused finally looking at josie

Josie sighs and looks at her "Hope, i'm serious are you okay"

"yes josie i'm fine, start the car and let's go." she says in a rushed tone

Hope doesn't really want to talk to her about landon, especially after what just happened. she loves landon and well... she thinks he loves her too

he just shows it in a different way.

atleast that's what she thinks "Hope?" josie says again, hope had spaced out mid conversation

"sorry, i zoned out" hope apologizes

"you know what hope..." josie says taking the keys out and putting it in her pocket then putting her jacket on

she looks at hope "burger king is like 7 blocks away and we haven't eaten all day so get out and let's take a walk" josie says getting out of the car, hope leans her head on the car seat and groans then she gets out the car

it's a little chilly out and thankfully it's not dark yet so the sunset is still there but josie doesn't seem to care "why can't we just drive?" hope asks kindve shivering

josie notices and reaches into the car and takes out one of her old sweaters "here, i don't want u freezing to death on our walk" josie says tossing her sweater to hope

she quickly catches it and puts it on

"thanks but you never answered my question jo" hope says

"because #1 i don't want to waste gas, #2 walking will suppress my hunger and #3 the sunset is pretty and i don't wanna miss that and i'm sure you don't want to either" josie says starting to walk, hope follows her

"you like burger king right"

"of course" hope says, they walk in silence and hope breaks it "your right too josie" she looks at her confused "right about what?" she asks

"the sunset is pretty" hope says smiling looking at the beautiful sunset

for some reason josie's heart raced at seeing hopes smile

after a little while they finally get to burger king, they're not really allowed to get fast food or go out in public a lot because of the rules alaric has for them
