Always and Forever

Chapter 24

"So your dad explained to me about what happened." Freya says

Josie looks down in disappointment, Hope looks at Josie and feels bad. She knows josie never meant for any of this to happen

"All the black magic you siphoned... it-its not good for you, for your health."

"I need you to tell me your symptoms, what you felt when you siphoned that monster." She says

Josie takes a deep breath "When i siphon magic i usually feel more powerful and energetic but this time i didn't. I felt... different. I-I don't really know how to explain it but it was a different feeling. I started to feel really tired and weird and just...sick." josie explains

Freya sighs deeply "Have you been doing any black magic lately?"

Josie inhales very quickly not expecting that question, "im not sure."

"What do you mean jo?" Hope says concerned, there's a moment of silence before josie speaks up

"there's this book that i got, it had a lot of spells in it that i've never seen before. The other day my dad had mg, kaleb, jed and i go hunt down a monster."

Hope tilts her head in confusion

why didn't I know about this??? Hope thought but didn't say anything about it

"We we're getting attacked and I used a spell that i saw inside the book to hurt the monster. After i did it i felt weird and blood came dripping down from my nose." Josie says, freya sighs and hope put her hand on top of josie's hoping it'll bring her some comfort

"Okay that is good to know, the black magic coursing through your body isn't safe. You could get hurt or worse...you could die from it"

Josie gulps at hearing the consequences of black magic

"How do we get rid of it? Can't we just do some spells then boom it'll be gone." Hope says

"Hope it isn't that easy, black magic is way different from any other type of magic. Black magic is like a parasite, it needs something to latch on to."

"I've checked some grimoires but i couldn't find a solution. But Josie i need you to give me that book, there could be very dangerous spells in there okay?" Freya says.

Josie nods.

A few days pass and no one has found a solution, everyone is starting to give up.

Alaric and bonnie are looking through some grimoires hoping to find at least something that includes black magic. Lizzie and Mg are walking around neighborhoods making sure there are no monsters lurking around.

Meanwhile the black magic coursing through josie is making her even more sick, she is laying in Hopes bed while Hope brings some warm tea for her.

"How are you feeling Jo?" Hope says sitting at the edge of her bed

Josie sits up slowly "i still haven't gotten any better, has anyone found a solution yet?"

Hope sighs "i don't know yet. I'll have to call them and ask." Josie nods, she begins to cough and hope tries to calm josie down. josie gets a cloth and puts it onto her mouth while coughing, she takes it out and there's blood on it

Hope gasps "You know what im calling jed and kaleb right now." Hope  says standing up and pulling out her phone.

Lizzie and Mg are walking around a neighborhood, he notices that Lizzie is fidgeting with her hands a lot

"Are you okay" he says

"i-i don't know" she says shakily

She sighs "I'm worried about Jo, Hopes been calling saying that the magic is making her worse. Josie can barely even get out of bed."

Mg sighs "Don't worry we'll find a solution"

Lizzie nods and keeps fidgeting with her hands Mg notices again and he grabs her hands which makes the fidgeting stop.

Lizzie looks up at Mg and smiles, she feels heat  on her cheeks and butterflies in her stomach. They don't say anything but continue walking until they get to bonnie's house.

They walk into bonnie's house still hand in hand and they see alaric and bonnie still searching through the grimoirs. Lizzies phone rings and she picks it up.

There's a moment of silence before she speaks "He has a solution?" she says confusingly, alaric lifts his head up quickly at hearing that they may have a solution

"Okay we'll be on our way." She says then she hangs up smiling

"Who was that?" Alaric says

"It was Kaleb. He says that Landon thinks he may have found a solution." Alaric sighs in relief, and Lizzie and Mg hug in hopes that this solution will work and save josie

"Oh thank god, call hope and tell her to come back to the school with josie." he says grabbing his things

"I'm coming with you guys" bonnie says standing up and gathering her things, alaric nods without saying anything else.

"You said that Landon found a solution?" Mg asks putting his backpack on

Lizzie nods "Yeah surprisingly, guess he's not that useless."she says chuckling
