Always and Forever

Chapter 13

Hope groans as she falls on the floor as soon as the monsters claw comes in contact with her face

"Hope!" Dr Saltzman yells out and runs to her "Josie Lizzie keep it distracted!" Dr Saltzman grabs Hope and quickly runs away to put her to safety inside the school.

"Lizzie do the spell!" Josie yells out to her while running to grab the sword on the ground "Jo we can't do it yet! It needs to be weak!"

"Just do the damn spell!" She yells out. Lizzie then siphons some magic from Mg, he looks a bit drained from it but he tells her to keep going. Lizzie begins the spell and Josie grabs the sword.

She has some trouble grabbing it because it's a little heavy but she can handle it. The spell Lizzie is doing is making the monster get weak by the second Josie runs up from behind the monster and stabs the sword right through its heart.

The monster growls out loud and falls to the floor dead.

Lizzie stops siphoning and Mg nearly falls from being siphoned.

Lizzie helps him up and Josie calls Dorian to let him know that the monster is dead. Then they all make their way back into the school.

It's been almost 3 months since Penelope's death, Josie has finally grieved and is not that hurt by her death anymore, Penelope's family is back in Belgium. This is the 6th monster that has crawled out of Malivore. Dr Saltzman thinks they're going after Landon again.

But Josie thinks not. If the monsters were going after him they wouldn't be going to the school.

Like always Landon left Hope again. She was heartbroken by it and is still desperate to find him. Lizzie thinks that the school should stop looking for him and focus on other important things. He's left so many times and still finds his way back to the school and back with Hope.

No matter how many times he leaves her and breaks her heart she still goes back with him.

The students are rebuilding the old mill again mostly so they can keep having their parties. Dr Saltzman had finally told them about the Hunters being responsible for Penelope's death. When Josie found out they were the reason that Penelope died. She was furious.

She wanted revenge.

So Josie decided to track down the Hunters to get her revenge for Penelope, Hope had followed her and stopped her. She convinced Josie that Penelope wouldn't have wanted that. Josie listened and called her dad and he later dealt with them.

After they all dealt with the monsters body and continued the rest of the day. It was already getting late but Josie wanted to go check on Hope before she went to her dorm. Josie made her way to Hopes room and knocked. She knew Hope was in there because her dad said so but she could hear Hope crying.

"Hope." She got no response.

"Hope please open the door." Josie knocked again.

This time she heard the bed moving and then Hopes footsteps getting closer to the door. The door was opened and Josies face fell when she saw Hope.

Hopes nose and eyes were puffy and pink. Her eyelashes were wet, she had a small gash on her cheek from the monster but it had already looked like it was healing.

But Hope had been crying.

"Hey." Hope said trying to put a small smile on her face.

"Hey wh-what's wrong?" Josie asked her worriedly. Hope didn't say anything but she opened the door for more space so Josie could walk in.

Once Josie walked in and turned around to face her.

Hope just fell into her arms and cried even more. Josie was surprised by the action and stumbled around the floor but she caught her balance.

Hope didn't notice because she was too busy letting all her tears out.

Josie sat on the bed and Hope sat beside her still crying into her shoulder. Josie didn't say anything, she was rubbing small circles with her hands on Hopes back to calm her down a bit.

Josie hated seeing Hope like this.

When Hope and Josie were best friends. Hope would always go to Josie when she would cry. Seeing Hope cry made Josie want to cry.

Josie didn't even have to ask why she was crying though. She already knew why.

Because of Landon.

Every time they would get into a big argument Landon would make it seem like it was Hopes fault then he would leave. When he would come back to the school, Hope would fall right back into his arms. It would be like he never left her.

After a while of Hope crying into Josies shoulder she stopped and began wiping her tears with her sleeve.

"It's um getting really late, i should get going. Lizzies probably worried." Josie said getting up.

Hope wanted to cry again. She didn't want Josie to go. She didn't want to be alone again. Well at least not right now.

As Josie stood up and started to make her way to the door she heard Hope say.

"please stay."

Josie knew that she couldn't leave her friend in her time of need. Hope was there for Josie when Penelope died so the least she could do was stay for her.

Josie smiled softly and took off her shoes then placed them by the door. Hope was already getting comfortable under the covers.

Josie was getting a small blanket from Hopes closet and starting to get comfortable on the small couch by her bed.

"Jo" Josie then looked at her.

"Lay in bed. It's okay."

Josie stopped her movements, she took the blanket off her self and folded the blanket then sat it aside. Hope moved a bit so Josie could have some space. Josie laid on her back and got under the covers.

Then Hope laid her head on Josies chest and moved Josies arm around her.

Josie immediately knew what Hope wanted. When they were best friends, they would always have sleepovers and Hope always moved Josies arm around herself so that Josie could play with her hair.

Hope always fell asleep quickly when Josie would do that.

So Josie started playing with her hair. Hope hummed and closed her eyes.

Josie smiles knowing that she secretly missed this. She missed her best friend. And Hope did too.

Josie had forgotten to text Lizzie so she reaches inside her pocket trying not to move too much to wake up Hope. Once she finally grabs her phone she texts Lizzie telling her that she won't be back until tomorrow.

Lizzie replied with a "Fine, then spill the tea tomorrow."

Y'all will be getting flashbacks on why Hope and Josie stopped being besties.
