The roller rink was not at all what Will had planned. El's lies bit her in the ass and she broke it's nose. Angela and her friends had embarrassed Eleven once more, and this time, she retaliated.

She had grabbed someone's skate and marched her way through the crowd to find her. She called out her name and when she spun around, El took her chance and shmacked her in the face with the polyurethane. (The wheel of the skate).

The paramedics were called and checking on the girl. Soon after, Jonathan and Argyle came back from getting high to take the freshmen home.

The car ride was miserable for the three in the back. The two up front saying how it could've been worse didn't calm Eleven's nerves. It made her feel worse — it made her feel like the monster she desperately tried not to be.

Walking into their house and hearing opera music was new. Will called out for his mom, wondering where she could be and why she was playing this horrendous music.

As they stepped into the kitchen, that's when they found him. "Well, well! Aren't you lot a sight for sore eyes, huh?"

"Hi, Murray."

"You kids like risotto?" He smiled in his apron.

Jonathan laughed, "Yeah."

The five sat at the table meeting Joyce on the way. Eleven had changed out of her dress and found her seat between Mike and Will.

Murray was explaining what he was doing here, but the kids barely listened. Their minds were elsewhere as they played with their food.

Will was thinking about what a shitty birthday he was having. The only good thing to come of it was the letter Bea had given him. The thought of his girlfriend always brought a smile to his face.

Mike was relaying the events from earlier through his mind. He couldn't believe El would do that. Not his perfect El. He's set up such an image around his girlfriend that he's yet to understand she isn't the same anymore.

Joyce was hoping the kids were buying the crap her and Murray were spewing. They had very little time to come up with a lie, so they were just going off on a whim.

Jonathan's mind was blank. Literally. He had too much of the purple plant to even realize that he was home right now, eating risotto with his family.

Argyle never had much to think about. He never let overthinking take over. That's why he got high so much. But now he was used to it, unlike Jon.

Murray smelled the weed on them. He tried to ignore it and focus on his and Joyce's quickly rehearsed conversation. Whenever he coughed, he would cover it up with a laugh.

Eleven barely ate, for she had too much on her mind. Images of earlier flashed through her mind like a punishment. She just wanted to turn her brain off. To feel as free as the two across from her right now. But most of all, she wanted Bea to be here. She just wants to see her best friend.

Murray was responding to Joyce about her offering him to stay. What Joyce said next is what brought everyone back to reality. "Right, that business trip."
