Bea and Max stood in front of an empty wall with all their friends behind them. "It was here. Right here." The two shown their flashlights at where they last saw the grandfather clock.
Nancy questioned the girls story before the pair replayed the events in their minds. "It was so real." The chimes rang through their ears, sending shivers down their spines once more.
Max continued to explain, "And then, when I got closer, suddenly I just... I woke up." Max hadn't seen Bea as she followed her, though she heard her name be called. And when the girl had gasped along side of her, she knew she wasn't the only one to have experienced this.
Dustin spoke from beside them, "It was like they were in a trance or something."
"Wait, 'they'?" Robin repeated.
Michelle nodded. "They. Both Bea and Max. They were both out of it. The boys had noticed Max frozen before I saw Bea. They couldn't move."
"Exactly what Eddie said happened to Chrissy. Only they didn't lift up into the air and break any bones."
Bea and Mick's eyes quickly dart to each other as Max stepping forward before facing the group. The strawberry-blonde had signaled her best friend to keep quiet. What Dustin said could just be a coincidence, right?
No. Definitely not. Not in this town.
"That's not even the worst part." Max brought the gang back into the counseling office before reading off the reports. "Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Miss Kelley for help. Uh, they both were having headaches, bad headaches that wouldn't go away. And then... then the nightmares."
Max rocked on the balls of her feet as she described what she also has gone through. "Trouble sleeping. They'd wake up in a cold sweat. Then they started seeing things. Bad things. From their pasts. These visions, they just... they kept on getting worse and worse, until eventually"—she exhaled deeply—"everything ended."
Robin looked up from the paperwork. "Vecna's curse."
"Chrissy's headache started a week ago. Fred's, six days ago." She put the pieces together in her head before mentioning, "I've been having them for five days."
"What about Bea?" Said girl quickly slapped her hand over her best friend's mouth. Why would she ask that? This isn't about Bea, it's about Max and her possible death!
Steve and Robin quickly spoke up, "What's wrong with Bea?" She fought back a small smile that they still cared before quickly covering it. If they really cared, where were they all this time?
Instead, the girl laughed it off. "What? Nothings wrong with me! She's so silly. Jeffersonville people, amiright? Ow-!" She pulled back her arm and began cradling her hand. "Now I know why Drew calls you a bitch."
She bit her!
Michelle stood up straighter and flattened her shirt. "Bea has been having headaches since our New Year's Eve party. At first, I suspected it was just due to the loud music. But the next day she felt like shit too, and I contemplated the... never mind." She didn't want to mention the drinks in front of the older teens.
