5 Going Home

"Loki, now!"

With the flick of his wrist, Thor's hand grew back and his hammer soon reunited as I created a barrier around myself and Jane after Loki had run up to us.

Thor conjured lightning and hit the substance as we all waited before it exploded.

After the aftermath had subsided, I relinquished the barrier as we all looked up as red crystals began to rise from the ground before becoming the substance once more.

Taking the substance in, Malekith shouted in pain before standing still, then turning to leave, but not before sending men back to fight.

Thor easily took them out but they then threw back a grenade of a sort as Loki pushed me into Jane. I instantly created a barrier once more only for Loki to be in the air, ready to be taken away.

I could see the fear in his eyes before Thor flew up and grabbed him, holding him to the ground before the portal-like figure disappeared.

Thor then started a fight with a man as Loki ran over to us as I lifted the barrier once more before Loki turned to me.

"Nope! Back up, back up!"

I nodded reinstating the barrier as Loki fought the creatures who surrounded us before going to help Thor, getting himself stabbed.

"No!"

Once the creature was gone, Jane and I stood, running to them as I sat by Loki's head. I took a deep breath as I looked down, stroking his hair as I whispered, "Thank you..."

Thor let out a cry of grief as the winds picked up before we left Loki, reluctantly finding shelter in a cave.

I looked back trying to find his body, only to see the storm that was brewing just beyond the safe hold. Waiting by the entrance of the cave, Thor and Jane spoke before receiving a call.

I soon turned around as Jane motioned for me to stand with them.

"Where are we going?"

She grabbed my arm and Thor's as she walked us further into the cave, and then we disappeared, arriving in a parking lot.

Soon getting into a car, Jane started it and drove us into town.

Arriving at a building, we got out but I stopped at the door, grabbing Thor's arm.

"Thor. I appreciate everything, especially getting me back home to Earth. And I'm truly sorry about Loki but I hope it's alright if I leave."

He sighed but then nodded, "Of course, Katerina. Thank you for everything you've done to help, including keeping Jane safe. Oh, and Rogers is in Washington at the moment. Say hi for me?"

I nodded and soon turned around, grabbing a cab and heading for the nearest airport.

Once I arrived, I quickly found the front desk, "Hi, could I get a one-way ticket to Washington?"

The lady looked at me, then smiled, "Name and passport please."

"Umm, Katerina Eriksen, and there won't be a need for the passport. Just a ticket please." I lifted my finger slightly as I watched her eyes become an icy blue before she nodded and handed me a ticket.

I smiled and took it before heading towards security and the gates.

After everything, I finally found myself comfortable on a plane, and soon I was heading home.

Only, the flight was delayed as the skies turned red and portals opened up to other worlds. I held my breath as I waited, hoping that Thor was going to win.

And then everything stopped and became normal again. They double-checked the plane and soon we were in the air.

I closed my eyes and before I knew it, we were on the ground. Quickly finding my way through the airport, I called a taxi outside. It was getting dark and once I recognized the area, I stopped the driver and got out.

With a flick of my wrist, I was wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants, then I sat down and waited.
