Chapter 26: We Got What We Wanted!

~Adrien~
"Get him out!" Sabine says as she rushes to the guard. "The King said he must never leave this room." "I am the Queen and I am telling you he has to be moved elsewhere! Right away!" "Listen to my wife!" Tom says as he rushes down.

"Yes Your Majesties." The guard says as he unlocks the door. He comes towards me and unchains my wrists and legs. As soon as I'm free I make a run for it.

"I don't think so!" Tom says as he swings. I feel a sharp pain in my face and I feel a liquid sliding down. "Tom! We weren't supposed to harm the kid! Marinette will never forgive us!"

Those are the last words I hear before everything goes black around me.

~Marinette~
I quickly rush into the bakery and see Nino and Gabriel sitting at the counter. "I know where he is!" I say and they shoot out of their seats. "Where?" "My parents took him. You were right Gabriel. I'm so sorry."

"Let's not worry about apologies right now. Let's go get my son." He says. I nod and we all run back to the castle.

"Marinette! They took him somewhere else!" Tikki says as soon as we step foot in the castle. "Do you know where?" I ask and she shakes her head. "I do." Plagg says as he walks over to us.

"Where did you come from?" "Your mom had me spy on you to see what you need work on. While I was spying I heard everything and I followed your parents." "Well where is he?" I ask.

"You're not gonna like it." "Answer her question! Where the hell is my son!" "They wouldn't take him there. Would they?" I ask and Plagg nods. "Take him where?" Nino asks.

"Marinette you need to go before it's too late." Tikki and Plagg say. "Ugh! I can't believe them!" I say as I grab a pair of car keys from a drawer.

"Where are we going?" "To the kill chamber." "They're gonna kill my son?" Gabriel asks as we get in the car. "No. I won't let them." "Don't worry we have weapons." Nino says. "How did you get a weapon?"

"Gabriel and I stole a gun from one of the guards." "I didn't steal a gun." Gabriel says. "Oh so I guess it was just me." "Hey! Stop them!" A guard shouts. "Nino!" "Don't lecture me! Just drive!" He says and I step on the gas.

~Adrien~
I open my eyes and see Luka, Tom, and Sabine standing in a circle talking. "We can't kill him Sabine." Tom says. "Marinette knows we have him. We have to."

"I thought part of the plan was for Marinette to know." Luka says. "Not like this. She's never going to forgive us." "And you think she'll forgive us if we kill him?" "What other choice do we have Tom?"

They're gonna kill me? Oh my god! These people are crazy! I try moving but my head and arms won't budge. "He's awake!" Luka says. "Don't bother trying to get free. You're locked in." Sabine says. "What is this?" "The guillotine."

~Marinette~

"I didn't even know there was a kill chamber." Nino says. "It hasn't been used in a long time. We just kept it as a historical landmark."

"Are we almost there?" Gabriel asks. "It's just around the corner.

~Adrien~
"Luka you can do the honors." Sabine says. "I'm not a murderer!" "Think about it! It's because of him that Marinette hates you. Don't you want your revenge?" "I don't know. Not like this."

I look at Sabine and see her mouth to Tom for help. "While he was feeding into her hatred for you, she showered him in kisses. He's the reason she'll never love you the same way she loves him." "I-"

"He's the reason she'll never want to marry you." Sabine adds. "Get rid of him and all your problems go away." As soon as Tom says those words Luka's hands find its way to the lever.

~Marinette~
I rush into the chamber and see Luka's about to pull the lever. "Luka don't!" I shout. "Marinette go back home!" My mom says. "Let my son go!"

"Move your hand from the lever." Nino says as he points the gun towards Luka. Luka backs away from the lever with his hands up.

My mom laughs. "You're outnumbered." My dad says. "Guards!" "Drop the weapon!" The guards shout as they all hold guns to us. "What do we do Marinette?"

"Drop the gun." "What?" "Nino we don't want to risk them doing anything to Adrien. Drop the gun!" He nods and throws the gun on the floor.

"Seize them!" "Mother no!" I shout as the guards detain us. "Luka you may continue."

"Let me go!" I shout as I try to wiggle out of the guard's grasp. "I'm sorry Your Highness." "Mother please don't do this! I love him!" I shout as tears flow down. Luka walks back to the lever and slowly starts to pull it.

"I'm sorry Mari. I love you." Adrien says. I look at Adrien and back at the lever. "I'll marry him!" "What?" My mom asks as she turns to me. "I'll marry Luka." "Mari no!" "I won't complain or argue anymore I'll be cooperative."

"You're lying." "I'm not! Just let Adrien go! Please!" My mom look at my dad and back at me. "You'll just run back to him." "I won't. After today I won't go anywhere near him. I'll stay away." She hesitates for a few moments considering it.

"If you try to get out of the marriage I'll put Adrien back in this position. Understand?" "I promise I won't do anything." "And the baker here has to agree to bake your wedding cake." "I'll do anything for you to let my son go."

"Let the lever go Luka." "But-" "We got what we wanted! Let it go." Luka nods moves his hands away. "Guards free the boy." My mom says and the guards unlock Adrien.

"Can I at least say goodbye?" I ask as I turn my heads to my parents. They do a slight nod. "Escort everyone else out." My parents command. The guards take everyone out of the room.

"Mari you shouldn't have done that." "It was the only way Agreste. I couldn't have just watched you die." "But now we can't be together." He says as he cups my face.

"That doesn't mean I'll ever stop loving you." "I'll never stop loving you either." He says as he pulls me into a kiss. As we pull apart he rests his forehead against mine.

"Promise me that every time you kiss Luka you'll picture me." He teases. "So never then." I say and he chuckles. "Thank you for saving me." "It's the least I can do after you've saved me so many times."

"Wrap it up Marinette." My dad says. "I have to go now." Adrien wipes away a tear as it slides down my cheek. "I'll miss you." "I'll miss you too Agreste." He pulls me into one last kiss.

"Okay time to go." My mom says as she sends a guard to take me out. "I love you Mari." "I love you more Agreste." I say as I walk out of the room.
