CHAPTER 3

" That's okay Gianna. May next time pa naman." 

Napatango ako kahit na medyo disappointed din ako sa sarili ko dahil 2nd place lang ang nakuha ko.

" Cheer up Gianna. You did great. " Kadynce give me a bright smile kaya napangiti narin ako. She's good in lifting others mood.

" Thank you. " I thank her.

Bumalik narin kami sa hotel na tinutuluyan namin para makapagpahinga dahil mamaya magdidinner na kami.

" I'm sorry if I disappointed you Prof." paumanhin ko kay Prof Elise.

" You did great earlier Miss Hermosa. " She said pero napakaseryoso naman niya kaya hindi ko alam kong pinapagaan nito ang loob ko o galit talaga siya saakin.

" So hindi niyo na ako ililibre?' tumaas ang kilay niya.

" Who said I'm going to treat you?"

I smirk. " Treat me? sure Ma'am" agad na sagot ko.

" Tch. I am not your Prof Giselle, just to remind Miss Hermosa so don't use that trick on me. "

" You're not. I know, because you two have a big differences. " Sagot ko.

She stared at me for a while bago ako dinedma. Kaharap nito ang laptop niya kaya hindi na niya ako pinansin.

Hinayaan ko nalang si Prof.

Hindi ko naman siya jowa para suyuin.

Hello? straight kaming pareho.

Kinabukasan ay gagala dapat sana kami kaya lang may bagyo kaya nagstay nalang kami sa hotel na tinutuluyan namin. Nakahiga lang ako sa kama habang nanunuod ng movies. Sila Prof naman may kanya-kanyang ginagawa. Lumingon ako sa katabi kong kama at napangiti nalang ako dahil kahit nakamessy bun lang ito ay maganda parin.

She turn her gaze to me pero nakapoker face lang siya bago binalik ang atensyon sa laptop.

Nagfocus nalang din ako sa panunuod. Mamayang hapon ang flight namin kung titila na ang malakas na ulan. Papasok pa kasi kami bukas sa klase.

Pagdating namin sa Manila ay hinatid pa ako ni Kadynce sa bahay dahil wala akong sundo. Kasama rin namin si Naiah at nasa passenger seat ito.

Sakto namang passenger seat 'yong awit sa stereo kaya lihim akong napangiti.

And I've got all the I need right here in the passenger to seat. Oh and I can't keep my eyes on the road knowing that she's from of me.

Nakita kong napatingin si Naiah kay Kadynce with a secret smile. She really likes Kadynce. I can see that in her eyes.

Is it really possible to like someone? I think it's a yes. But me, I am not capable of liking someone nor love. I don't see myself building a relationship with someone. Maybe I could, but it needs to take time for me to feel a connection with them. Mommy and Jessa was the only person important to me. I was having a hard time letting people entering my life.

Nauna akong hinatid ni Kadynce kaya nagpasalamat ako sakanila.

" Take care guys and good night" I wave my hand for good bye. They both smiled at me.

Kinabukasan ay pumasok narin ako sa school. Marami agad ang bumati saakin at binati ko naman sila pabalik. It was a daily routine. It was normal for me. I don't feel attached to them. It was a co-students relationship.

Nakita ko si Prof Giselle na naglalakad sa hallway at maraming dala kaya nilapitan ko agad at tinulungan.

She asked me how's the contest and I said naka 2nd place lang ako but she cheered me up kaya natuwa naman ako because somehow, words of affirmation has an impact to me specially from someone who doesn't have a grasp of what I've been through. A pure words of affirmation without pity, without judgements.
