I will state again that even though the majority of the characters in this fan fiction are based on the MHA manga/anime, not everything I write is cannon and based on factual story events. Some of it is derived from fact about the series, but some of it is also my own creative thought process and interpretation of events or how I think these characters would feel, act, etc. So yeah, keep that in mind as you read. K, thanks, byeee.

Also....shoutout to my best friend who's been devouring my fics. I'm putting out this chapter early just for her 🖤

Your eyes flutter open after a few hours. Your head is rested on Touya's chest and he's gently rubbing his fingers up and down your back. You peer up and see him reading something while pulling drags on a cigarette. When your head moves against him, he looks down at you. A grin curls the corners of his lips and he sets his book down on the nightstand. He blows smoke from his lips and puts the but into the ashtray.

"Well look who's finally awake. How are you feeling?" His blue eyes hold your gaze and he caresses your cheek gently.

"I'm great," you smile at him. The soft look he's giving you makes your heart flutter.

He kisses you on your forehead and moves to sit up in bed. You roll to your back and your head falls into his lap. His fingers thread through yours to hold your hand as they rest against your stomach. When his knuckles graze your skin you realize you're still naked. Your cheeks heat and you look away from him.

Touya chuckles and pinches you playfully. "No need to be shy, little light." He glances at your bag still sitting in the floor where you dropped it. "But you can dress if you'd be more comfortable like that."

"That depends...are you going to get your fun, dress, and leave again?" You glance at him and raise a brow.

His brows set into a hard line and he clears his throat. "I'm still here, aren't I?" His defensive tone makes you chew your lip a little. You could tell you struck a nerve, but weren't sure if he was angry at you or embarrassed with himself. He sighs seeing your nervous expression. "Y/N look, you said it yourself...we have different lives. It's already a risk to see each other like this. Sticking around for long periods of time can make that even more of a risk." He clenches and unclenches his jaw as he tilts his head back, running a hand through his hair.

"Does that bother you?" You ask softly.

He scoffs and looks down at you with an annoyed expression. "What part? The fact that we have to sneak around or us having completely different...career paths?"

You shrug. "Mostly the latter. I'm sure you're used to sneaking around. Ya know, considering your...career path." You snicker a little which causes him to sigh and chuckle softly.

"Oh me being a criminal is amusing, huh?" He jabs a finger into your side causing you to jolt and giggle. He grins slightly but there's a tortured look on his face. "There are a few things that bother me about that glaringly obvious difference, but none of them have to do with you or are your fault really." He sighs and clicks his tongue. "Well except for the whole you choosing to work for a scumbag like Endeavor."

You let out a nervous laugh and pick at your nails. "Touya...I know he was kind of a jerk when we were kids, but...he's getting better."

He tilts his head back in an exaggerated laugh. "Yeah, sure he is. And honestly, you have no idea how much of an understatement that is. He wasn't 'kind of a jerk,' he's a complete piece of shit who treated my family like we were nothing but pawns in his game to be the best. He couldn't reach the top, so he just created me and my siblings to do it for him." He scoffs and you notice his tone change as his face sets into an angry expression. "Except none of us were good enough for him...even his perfect little creation, Shoto, can't please him...he's always pushing him to go further. Just couldn't learn his fucking lesson with one son." He spat the words out and growled in anger.
