Gentle reminder that I write FANFICTION! What that means is that my plot lines do not directly follow that of the official manga/anime created by Horikoshi. What I write is inspired by the actual events of the manga and the characters in the My Hero Academia universe. HOWEVER, this is my own personal fan fiction and therefore I take my own creative liberties in changing things to fit the narrative of my story. Keep that in mind as you continue to read. Critical comments attempting to correct me on what "actually happened" or what YOU think would/should happen will be met with a mute or a block if they persist (this is at MY discretion as the author)! Please just enjoy the story for what it is. If you don't like my writing then it's simple: Don't read it and/or go write your own the way YOU want it to happen. That is all. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. :)

!! I have written an alternate ending for this fic that does not end with sadness and angst. If you'd like to read the happy ending instead, please skip to the chapter labeled alternate ending now! :) !!

The days passed by and you tried to balance your time between preparing for your escape with Dabi and spending the last bit of time you had with your loved ones. Any time you heard sirens or got an alert from the office, your heart pounded in your chest. You had no idea what day all of this was going to happen...just that it was coming soon. Time was running out and you were hoping you had prepared for it properly.

You went into work on a relatively sunny day and nodded to your fellow sidekicks as you walked to your office. You sat down at your desk and started going through your e-mails to get the day started. A knock on your door caught your attention and you stopped typing out a response.

"Come in," you called out.

A head of blonde hair popped into the opened door and you smiled at Keigo's friendly expression. He gave you a little wave and leaned against the doorframe.

"Hey there, kid. I'm going to be working around the agency today and I was wondering if you wanted to grab lunch in a bit?"

You nodded "Sure! About what time?"

He raised his wrist and shook back his jacket sleeve. His eyes fell on the watch he wore and he hummed. "How about we head that way around 11? Then we can beat a little bit of the lunch rush if we fly," he shrugged and put his hands into his pockets.

"Sounds good, Keigo. See ya then!"

The door closed and you turned back to your computer. You sent your reply and opened the next e-mail. As you began typing again, a chime came from your computer alerting you to a new e-mail. You returned to your inbox and the subject sent chills down your spine.

Breaking News!!! Villain Livestream Being Broadcast Across Japan!

With shaky hands, you clicked on the e-mail and saw a link to a live stream. The video's thumbnail showed Dabi sitting in a chair with no shirt on. You launched up from your chair and took a few steps towards the door. Before you reached it, it swung open and you saw a distressed Keigo look inside.

"It's time," he mumbled.

You nodded and followed him out of your office. The alarm that alerts the agency to a villain attack begins to blast through the halls and main office area. Your eyes widen and you look at Keigo. The two of you hurry through the crowd of sidekicks readying themselves for a fight. When you reach the balcony, Keigo leaps into the sky with you following right behind him on your formed wings.

"I'll fly ahead and find him!" He shouts over the wind currants and zips away.

You reach up to the communicator in your ear and turn it on. The dispatcher from the Endeavor hero agency gives the report, their voice flooding your head as you fly.
