Some slight manga/anime spoilers in the next few chapters, BUT I changed things up a lot. So be prepared for things to be a little different than what you know and remember. Just a polite reminder that this is fan FICTION. :)

Word of the league kidnapping a UA student spread like wildfire across the news stations. It's all anyone was talking about. When you walked into work the next morning, the agency was buzzing with gossip from every office. You turned down the hallway and saw a few police officers exiting Endeavor's office. He shook hands with one of them, a short black-haired man in slacks and a crisp button-down white shirt. They turned to leave and walked past you.

You walked into your office and sat down at your desk, booting up your computer to check your email. A new email popped up in your inbox, prompting your browser to scroll to the top. You clicked it and read what was on the screen.

Endeavor was informing you all of a rescue mission he'd been asked to help with. Some of the top heroes were being brought together to save the kidnapped student. Several sidekicks within the agency typed out responses to offer their help. You hit the reply-all button and volunteered your help, too. You chewed your lip, waiting for a response. Endeavor's office assistant responded to politely inform you all that they weren't accepting the help of any sidekicks on this mission. Your chest fluttered with nerves for what might happen and how things might go if Dabi and Endeavor came face to face. What if he was captured...

You sat back in your chair and looked at your phone sitting on your desk. With shaky hands, you picked it up and stared at the screen. A cacophony of thoughts and worries waged war inside your mind. There were still so many questions you needed answers to. You didn't want to make any assumptions about what had happened but all the news stories were horrific.

You opened the text thread between you and Touya. The last messages between the two of you were last night. The brief call you'd had didn't bring you much solace either. Your thumbs hovered over the keyboard on the screen. You sighed and typed out a message, sending it before you could second guess yourself.

You: Please be careful. They're looking for that student...they're coming to rescue him.

As you clutch your phone to your chest, your head buzzes with more worry and questions. By now you knew what student had been taken - Katsuki Bakugo. They were blasting the kid's name in every news story about the kidnapping. There were suspicions that the league intended to sway his mind to their side, encouraging him to join them.

There was a twinge of guilt that flashed through you for warning him. You were still a hero...but he's your boyfriend. You couldn't let anything happen to him, right? What if he was hurt or captured during the raid? That wouldn't be good.

But what about the student they had taken? Was he hurt? Dabi said he'd had things under control...to not believe what you saw or heard from the media. You trusted him.

"I trust him," you whispered to yourself. Your voice was shaky. You gripped your phone tightly and squeezed your eyes shut just wishing you knew what was going on and if he was ok.

Trying to calm yourself down, you decided to focus on your office work. You began filling out reports and responding to emails that had been sent to your inbox about jobs and upcoming patrols. As you turned your attention to something else, you felt yourself get a little less shaky. Your breathing had become normal again and you didn't feel as worried as before.

There was a little chime that notified you of a new email. You raised a brow when you saw it was from Hawks. You clicked on the message thread. He was inviting you to lunch today. You chuckled and shook your head. You quickly typed a response to let him know that you'd meet him at the address he'd typed in his email. He had suggested noon for the lunch. You looked at the current time and realized you only had an hour until then.
