Hey there! Just a reminder to CHECK THE TAGS in this story. They are important and tell you what you're in for throughout the entire fanfic. I've had some recent comments that lead me to believe you haven't read the tags, so I just wanted to give you a fair warning that this story DOES NOT have a happy ending. We're about to get into some real sad shit, so buckle up buttercups and drink your water. K, love you, byyyyyeeeeee! <3

The next few days seemed to pass by at a painstakingly slow pace. You tried your best to focus on your work, but it was getting difficult to dodge all the news about Deika City. All the news stations were talking about it and debates about whether or not citizens should be allowed to freely use their quirks with restrictions or licensure were the subject of conversation on every talk show in the city.

Endeavor has asked you to help continue training Shoto through the agency, so you spent most of your afternoons helping out with that. You were thankful for the distraction. He was a good kid - smart, a quick thinker, and strong. You saw so much potential within him. Although every time you saw him use his fire quirk, you couldn't help but think about Touya and the stories he had told you about training with his father as a young child.

When the number one hero would harshly critique Shoto, you would encourage him to keep trying. You also warned him to learn his limits so that he didn't hurt himself or overuse his quirk. He thanked you for the advice and kind words, but you could see the anger in his eyes. His rage towards his father didn't burn as bright as Touya's, but it was still there, bubbling under the surface.

You were headed back to your office to shut down your computer and grab your things at the end of the day when the sight of massive red wings caught your attention. Hawks was standing just outside the doors to Endeavor's office. Your friend nodded and turned to walk away when he saw you standing there. His golden eyes flashed back over his shoulder for a moment. Endeavor closed his office door behind him, leaving the two of you standing in the hallway.

"Hey kid, got a minute?" He sighed and pushed his hands down into the pockets of his khaki pants.

You nodded and led him into your office. He closed the door and turned to face you. There was an unusually serious look on his face that you weren't used to seeing from him. You raised a brow at him and walked around your desk to begin gathering your things.

"What's going on, Keigo?"

"Has he told you about the people they're working with?" He keeps his voice low.

You stop what you're doing and slowly turn to look at him. "Um, not much. All I know is they used to be enemies and now they're allied. He doesn't give me too much information," you say softly and shrug.

The winged hero nods and rubs the back of his neck a little. "They're working with a group that called themselves the Meta Liberation Army. Now that the league has teamed up with them, they're going by the Paranormal Liberation Front," he sighs. His golden eyes darken slightly as his eyebrows furrow together. "Y/N, this group that they're working with is dangerous. They have way too much power. I'm worried about where this is going to go...and I know you've grown close with some of the league just like I have."

You blink at him and sit down. You stare down at your desk, letting his words sink in. He walks a little closer to your desk and hangs his head.

"Touya's going to get hurt if they push forward with their plans," he whispers.

Your eyes snap up to his face. Questions fill your mind and your heart begins to beat faster in your chest. Worry for him fills your heart, causing your eyes to water a little. You look away from Hawks and shake your head.
