An anthology of musings

There's a storm in my brain
They say creation is our worst alarm. And by they,
I mean the same people who think that time's a myth,
And that the universe moves in unparalleled life lines,
Much like the unpredictable speed of a wooden top
Being unbound from its kinetically-charged ropes.
At what rates does nature take its inevitable course
That, too, is a rollercoaster of inclined planes and
Agile free-falls? We often say that the world is
Shifting beneath our feet, with vivid projections of
The past and future swinging full-force at the present.
And we wish for the world to stop just as constantly.
But what parts of the world transcend to our senses?
How do we meddle with the weather in our brains?
How much of the world makes us meet a new day?
What's in the sunlight that blinds us every morning?
What in the world makes us hurl our unspoken sins
Into the tragedies that greet our every waking minute?
How much of the world do we truly, fully feel, when
The blistering space around us pounds into our heads,
Seeps into our skin like uninvited memories, and gifts
Us with a pain so ruthless, we're forced to wake up?
That would make an excellent science project.━━━ ❦ ━━━
