Alongside battle

Bullets are as black
As fists lunging forward
In offense of the truth
And in defense of a liar.

Bullets are as black
As a war-plagued night
Where only cockroaches
Scour mansions for food.

Bullets are as black
As justice held hostage,
Silenced by the cruelties
Of handcuffs on their wrists.

Bullets are as black
As your TV screen gone static,
When it's stripped of its freedom,
Of its red, green, and blue.

Bullets are as black
As the eyes of our avengers,
Adorning their lives gone pale
When learning is torn apart.

Bullets are as black
As the ink that bled from
Historians' quills, begrudged
In bearing its fraudulence.

Bullets are as black
As the orbs we shade and color
Mindlessly enlisting ourselves
Under he, who holds the gun.

Bullets are as black
As the blood we've drawn
In our endless fight to fill
Our world with our colors.

Bullets are as black
As evil, but to all of them,
We stand, tall in solidarity
Alongside what's justly ours.
