Artemis POV

He looked at me with such disbelief in his eyes.

"I-I don't understand...Artemis you were five" he said to me look for the punch line in the story.

"We werewolves mature faster than humans Aaron it's only natural-" I began only to jump as he raised his voice.

"She was your mother! There's nothing natural about this Artemis!" He shouted.

"I know and I'm sorry-" I tried to say.

"We can fix this we just have to find the witch right?" He asked frantically.

"No. The only way to break the curse is by the will of the one that signed with blood. My mother. It will end when she dies. When that happens so will I."

"W-what that hell do you mean?!"

"It was the price of the curse she said. To be forever bonded with her. Our blood is intertwined. My last breath will be hers and hers will be mine." I explained slowly.

He sat there quiet for a while processing everything most likely trying to figure out a way around this but there wasn't one.

This was our tragic love story.

"What happens if we spend all three months unmated?"

"The closer to the end the more we'll be drawn towards each other. It's already unheard of mates being so close and not mating within the first month of meeting. That's why we go into heat. It's the moon goddess way to push along the mating process."

"So rejecting each other is the only way?"

"It's the only thing I could think of to counteract it. It most likely wouldn't last for long I would have to leave. Or perhaps the curse would still be active and the count down would be still continue on." I said sharing my thoughts.

We sat in silence letting him gather his thought before I spoke again.

"I-I never wanted to meet you...I never even wanted to tell you. I just never wanted to have to see that look on your face." I said quietly.

"Don't say that."

"I don't regret meeting you for a second. I deserved to know the truth. You've had to carry this burden on you for so long... I wish you would have told me sooner." He said with disappointment laced in his voice.

"What would it have done? We're destined for tragedy! For heartache! For destruction! The day I walked into your life was the day the clock started ticking. We're a walking time bomb ready to explode why can't you see that?" I exclaimed.

"I see that and so much more. You say we were destined for tragedy? For heartache? For destruction? No all I see is that we're destined to love one another. To stand by each other's side. To stand against the odds. The day you walked into my life it felt like my life finally began. You say it was when the clock startes ticking till my end but no it was our beginning. We can get through this because there's no way in hell this how our story is supposed to end." He stated.

"And if it is?" I asked quietly.

"Than I'm glad I got to spend it with you Snowflake."

"You mean that don't you." It wasn't a question it was a statement because there wasn't a shred of doubt in his eyes.
