Aaron POV
I stood there watching her walk out of the kitchen before letting out a sigh.
Pulling out the leftover cheesecake from some nights before I started to eat a slice as I began to think about our first meeting.
When I returned home from my trip I was overjoyed to find out my Mate was here waiting for me! Following the scent of cinnamon and honey, I was led out to the back yard only to see some of my most trusted pack members childishly playing out in the rain. But nothing mattered when I saw Her.
Even covered from head to toe in mud she was the most beautiful mud monster I had ever seen. She walked up to me slowly and when we were finally face to face, she looked up at me with those hunter green eyes and at that moment I knew I would love this girl for the rest of my life.
I smirked at her as my wolf howled in the back of my mindscape, noticing she was checking us out. I just knew she would turn my world upside down, but when she spoke I could feel the sharp pain when I heard her voice lacked any emotion at all.
I thought maybe she was joking. She couldn't possibly believe I wasn't her Mate. I know she had to feel the fireworks when we touched. But she walked away from me like it meant nothing to her at all.
Everyone outside gave me sympathetic looks but I brushed it off with a smile. I met her siblings and I couldn't help but ask them what I did wrong? I truly didn't understand and I still don't now. They just told me to give her time. And I can do that. I'll do whatever it takes to have her stand by my side one day.
I smiled to myself as I walked upstairs to my room. I began to imagine all of the things I would love to do with her. I wish to make her smile and laugh. I hope she will be able to trust me so she can confide in me about anything and everything. And I dream to wake up beside her every morning and fall asleep next to her every night.
But until then...I'll wait for her. I just wish it didn't hurt so much to do so.
Laying down on my bed I looked around my light blue walls and couldn't help but miss her. She was so close but then again so far.
When I saw her at dinner tonight I had to calm my wolf from running into her arms right then and there.
She looked spellbinding.
I noticed she was avoiding my eye contact, but that was fine, it gave me the chance to take her completely in.
She had lovely almond skin I could finally see from under all that mud from earlier. I wonder if the mud had anything to do with how smooth it looked, or was it that striking all the time?
Across her nose was a bridge of brown freckles that made her look adorable. Her hair was black with silver highlights, its kinky and thick curls fell nicely on her shoulders. I couldn't help but think about how it would feel running my hands through those curls.
The dress she had on complimented her perfectly, hugging her hips and curves beautiful, while the top hung loosely against her chest. It didn't show much, just enough to make the imagination run wild.
When she spook to me at the table it felt like I could talk to her about anything. She instantly calmed me down with just a few simple words, it felt like she was trying to reassure me that she had my back.
Then I closed my eyes and thought back to the kitchen. Sighing, I gripped my covers and pulled them over me more.
'Don't you worry Artemis I don't plan on giving up on you.' I thought before falling asleep.

I woke up the next morning hearing laughter and cheering coming from downstairs. Deciding to investigate I freshened up and threw on a pair of basketball shorts, a blue muscle shirt, and running shoes for today's training.
