Chapter 23

Artemis

I was awoken to the gentle taps against my shoulder and a soothing voice called out my name. I opened my eyes to see the cheery Alpha smiling down at me with amusement in his eyes.

My mind wandered as he began to speak. I wish I could wake up to him every day. Perhaps he would wake me up by playing with my hair. I would try and ignore it and nuzzle closer into the heat of his bare chest and just feel content.

'Hmm, his chest...I wonder how he looks...' I thought as my eyes traveled down to his muscular arms that seemed to stand out even in his long-sleeved V-neck.

'I mean with arms like that he has to-' my mind raced with images, I could feel my body getting hot with each one that passed.

Until I was taken from my thoughts with the tapping against my window.

I shook my head and turned to see Apollo making silly kissy faces against the window. Athena stood beside him and looked ready to smack him over the head.

Laughing to myself I rolled down the window.

"What are you doing doofus?" I asked Apollo.

"Gosh I thought you two were never gonna notice us out here, honestly Arty it looked like it was about to get steamy-" Apollo said wiggling his eyebrows.

"Shut up Pollo!" I yelled swing open the door causing him to get hit in the process.

I looked around my surroundings and saw that we were on a dirt road just outside of the forest. On either side of the road were high plains of grass, recalling Aarons walkthrough of the land there was a small town we had to pass through before arriving, that's where our moving trucks were parked. So the only cars here were Franco's, Ezra's, Aaron's, and two other pack members.

I heard the car door slam and Aaron walked over to by my side.

"Hey Snowflake you still have a little drool right here," Aaron said referring to the corner of his mouth.

"There is not! Shut uppp!" I exclaimed before moving away to hide my blush and wipe my face.

After I had Athena give me a once over I returned to the guys.

"So how long do you think it will take them to notice we're here?" I asked looking up at Aaron.

"Well, their pack is just about 10 minutes behind the forest lining. We've been here for a good 5 minutes if Shawn's caught a whiff of my scent I would give them another 5 minutes." Aaron said with a shrug.

"Great so now we just wait," I said hopping on the hood of Aarons Jeep.

"Meh, my baby!" Aaron squealed looking at me as if I was crazy.

"Dude chill! I pretty much weigh nothing." I said winking at him.

"Psh weighs nothing? Is that what you're telling yourself? Have you carried-" Apollo began to say to Aaron.

"Ugh Apollo!" I yelled throwing my shoe at him.

"Ha, I caught it!" He said but I knew he would catch the first so I threw the second as soon as he moved the other from his face.

It hit him right in the nose.

"OW that was my nose!" He yelled.

"Great that's what I was aiming for maybe now you can stop sticking your nose into everything!" I yelled.

Just then he threw both of my shoes far into the plains of grass.

I gasped.

"Hmph now maybe you can get that foot from your ass!" Apollo said smirking at me.
