Artemis
By the time we hit the road, it was about one o'clock. The once one hour trip back was looking to be almost two hours, due to the afternoon traffic.
The car was filled with the loud chatter from Apollo and the girls in the back seat. While Aaron and I kept silent, my eyes traveled out the window. Watching the cars stop and go and the heavy tree lining calling my name.
It had been almost two weeks since I went for a run and honestly, I could go for one right about now.
I laid my head against the cool window and closed my eyes.
I felt sleep welcoming me back in with open arms, but that door seemed to close once I heard my name being called.
I squeezed my eyes closed tighter, hoping maybe they would think I was asleep. Of course, my wish wasn't granted when I felt something go inside of my ear.
My shoulder jolted and my nose scrunched up with irritation. Opening my eyes I turned to the back seat to see Apollo retreating comfortably back in his seat.
He looked at me with a smile.
"What do you want? Couldn't you see I was sleeping?" I asked offering him a glare when he rolled his eyes.
"Oh please, you were not sleeping. I can tell the difference trust me." He said with a wink.
"Anyway, we should play a game!" Apollo exclaimed.
"Why? You were doing just fine chatting back there." I said turning back in my seat.
"Yeah well, that was then this is now. Besides you two are so quiet up there why not join in the conversation!" He whined.
"Well Aaron is focused on driving and I'm sleepy," I said tiredly looking back out the window.
I heard Aaron let out a small chuckle but didn't respond.
"You're a grouch you know that?" Apollo said with a huff.
I turned around quickly.
"You did not just call me a grouch!" I exclaimed.
"Meh just calling it how I see it, Miss. Grouch." He confessed shrugging his shoulders.
"Well take it back you know the only grouch is Athena!" I said feeling my lips form a small pout.
"I will if you play a game with us!" He said with satisfaction written on his face.
Letting out a sigh I gave in.
"Since we're used to spending hours and days on the road, us Angelos siblings have a few car games in the books!" Apollo stated proudly.
"Okay enlighten us," Serena said beside him.
"Art you pick!" He said poking my shoulder.
I sighed.
I hated picking.
Like most of the things we do, these car games can get pretty intense. Last time ended up with Athena putting Apollo in a chokehold for finding a word for the letter Z in the alphabet game. Another had Athena and I have a whole fight because she was totally cheating at eye spy which lead to a broken window.
Now that I think about it maybe Athena was the problem, she's such a sore loser.
Giving the decision some thought I remembered the new additions to our little group Serena and Ella.
"Well, I wouldn't mind getting to know a bit about the two of you! I'm sure you guys can feel the same right?" I asked pointing at the two girls with a smile.
