The heck is up with this guy giving me heart attacks on a daily basis?

Aside that, guilt engulfed my chest as I noticed the hesitancy laced in his tone.

"Hi."

I couldn't bring myself to say anything more. Since we both were alone for the first time since he transferred, awkwardness hung in the air.

"Can I sit?"

"Yeah, sure." I scooted as far as I could to give him space. I don't think 'as far as I could' makes sense here because the bench was small and made for two people only, and our shoulders were almost touching.

Thankfully there were only juniors around.

"How have you been?" He looked directly at me while I looked down.

"I have been good, a little tired from work. How about you?" I looked at him. My heart instantly started racing as my eyes met his as they sparkled under the sun. I noticed the way his freckles were so much more beautiful up-close, the one on his nose standing out more than the others (which is my new favorite now onwards) and his blonde hair that looked like it had fingers run through them, making it look more attractive than I thought it could. Everything happened in a second though as I tore my gaze away from him and exhaled the breath I didn't know I was holding.

"I have been good too." He looked down as he rolled the stones under his foot I was kicking earlier.

We both kept quiet for a bit.

Then I spoke.

"Aren't you supposed to be with Sora?"

He raised his eyebrows. "Oh, you know her?"

I stared ahead. "Yeah. Not that we're friends though."

"Oh. Uh, I was a bit tired. So while I was coming back I spotted you here, I guess."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "You guess?"

There was silence for a while as he flipped and rolled the rocks with his feet.

Before he spoke up.

"I am sorry that I didn't tell you that I was transferring here. I thought of surprising you but I guess it was wrong of me to-"

"Felix." I looked at him as I called out.

He turned his head towards me.

Trying not to get carried away under his gaze, I spoke. "You did nothing wrong. In fact it was quite sweet of you, it's just.... wait, shit we have to go somewhere else."

Seeing a pile of students, even girls from his class exiting the school, I began to sprint towards the other side of the school as Felix followed closely behind.

It was chaos.

I wondered what he would think seeing me run for no reason and that he has to follow behind. Running into the school through a different door on the other side, I saw the group of boys exiting a class laughing loudly as they chatted.

'The new guy was alone with a girl'

'I think they're dating'

No way am I going to let those rumors spread in the air.

I grabbed Felix's hand as he was confused with the directions, before I ran towards the other way, and we halted in our tracks as we reached a dead end. I quickly let his hand go, the touch leaving a slight tingling sensation where it left.

"I think they're coming towards this way." Felix whispered as our ears perked up at their voices that were getting nearer as seconds ticked by.

There's no other option.

Turning the door knob of the store room beside us, I motioned him to get in before I entered myself after him.

I should have thought this through.

Because we both were enclosed in the tightest space ever as my body was pretty much pressed against him as his minty breath hit my face.
