The first time I saw you, the day I watched you entering the bus before swiping the card.

It was just a trifling moment of seeing a stranger, an exceptionally beautiful young man, doing the ordinary.

When you took the seat beside me, I thought 'it was the closest available seat, of course.'

Was it meant to be?

When you entered the cafe, the bells jingled as they alarmed your arrival. You walked up to the counter of the cafe I just happened to be working in. I remember how the world seemed to stop when we locked eyes.

I called it 'a mere coincidence.'

Then came the day I stood at the entrance of your class at my school, completely awestruck by your presence as I watched you softly mumbling to yourself with a pencil between your lips and your eyebrows furrowed.

How could I not have realised.

It was fate all along.

Crickets sang as they flew about the as they flew about the glittering thickness of the trees in the distance, with daffodils that bloomed around us as we basked under the fire of the setting sun.

I ran my fingers through his silk-like blonde hair on my thigh as we rested near the calm lake. He took my hands, playing with them before intertwining them with his.

Butterflies fluttered about in my stomach, happiness surging through my veins, and every wound in my heart healing up.

"Spring is beautiful." Felix spoke softly as the scent of the flowers surrounding us engulfed our senses.

"You are more beautiful." I murmured as I let my fingers trace his freckles, noticing one freckle that was in the shape of a heart.

Can he be any more breathtaking?

His eyes softened, grabbing my hand before softly placing butterfly kisses across my knuckles.

"I was always insecure about my freckles." He looked into my eyes as I still gazed at them.

"They are beautiful though. I remember trying my best to look away from them when I met you for the first time in the bus." I chuckled, my heart warming as the memory flashed across my eyes.

"I am so glad I decided to go to the library that day." He said softly, almost a whisper. I looked back into his eyes.

I let out a soft chuckle. "From being a library stranger I sat with to being my safest place."

"And being yours, one and only absolutely gorgeous boyfriend." He stated smugly, glints of playfulness evident across his eyes.

I rolled my eyes so hard, I was almost about to see the back of my head.

Perk of dating him: you never know when the atmosphere will switch from giving you butterflies to making you question why you're dating him.

But I love him nevertheless.

A hearty laughter bubbled out of me, and he sat up, flipping his now grown mullet behind.

"I guess the bugs in this grass found their way to your brain and messed it up because you're sputtering nonsense."

I laughed, letting out a squeak as I tried to get away while he tried to lunge at me, and he pulled my legs as I was dragged towards him with ease, him now hovering above.

"My brain is bug-resistant, thank you." He smiled, before lowering himself to place a short peck on my lips. A blush crept its way towards my face, my heart skipping a multiple times along the way. It still feels like the first time.

Love. A word used extensively when it comes to describing affection towards a person. It finds you when you least expect it. Sometimes you don't even know you're in love. For some people it could be listening to the person so intently even if they were talking about something completely silly (like the time I told Felix about how I tried to kill a housefly but paralysed it instead because it couldn't fly anymore), but for some people it could be every sound blurring out, even the words coming from the person they love itself, as they let themselves get lost in their eyes, diving deep into the endless ocean within. It's not the same for everyone. It can find you when you're at the drinks aisle wondering which one to buy while you're at the supermarket, or when you're dragging yourself home after an exhausting day at school. You never know who you'll meet, how important they can become.

And that's a beautiful part of life.

"Thank you for coming to my life, library stranger." I chuckled at the nickname, and he grinned, plopping himself beside me as we laid on the grass, side by side.

"I love you."
