The boy was looking up at the menu above her, before shifting his eyes to meet hers as they widened in surprise when she turned around. Her breath was taken away, as his blonde locks glowed due to the sunlight seeping in through the glass walls behind him, and he looked strikingly handsome wearing a black shirt and jeans with silver hoops encircling his ears followed by a long dreamcatcher earring dangling down his left one.
"Oh, hi! Nice to meet you again." He beamed a smile with enthusiasm, making Yuri zone back in to the real world.
"H-hello. This is quite surprising, but yeah it's nice to see you again too."
Yuri's POV
It's nice, but your striking visuals are very unhealthy for me.
He smiled, looking up the menu again.
"I would like an iced americano please."
I slowly nodded averting my eyes away from him, tapping down on the cash register. I took his payment before turning around, only to stop when he called out.
"Won't you write down my name, Yuri?"
I froze, my legs about to give away as he called my name with his voice octaves lower than any guy I ever met. I closed my eyes and took a quick deep breath before turning back at him to see him indicating towards my badge with his eyes and a lift of his eyebrows.
I let out a nervous chuckle as I realized what he meant.
He got to know my name through my badge.
Grabbing the cup and a marker beside the cash counter, I looked up at him with cheeks that heated up without my consent.
"Felix."
His eye smile brought back the small creases near his eyes, and I found my heart picking up its pace as it drummed against my ribcage.
And it kept replaying inside my head.
Felix.
I wrote down his name before uttering a short 'coming right up' before walking towards the machines to make his beverage.
"Am I tripping or is a literal Greek god standing over there?"
And here comes her over-excited spam of questions.
"And you know that gorgeous guy?! Where did you meet him? Why didn't you tell me about this?" Lia whisper-squealed into my ear while Jeongin immediately came closer to hear the story.
Wow, these two were eyeing us the whole time.
"No, Lee, I don't know him that properly. I just sat with him yesterday at the library."
Jeongin frowned. "So there's no tea? Aish so disappointing."
Meanwhile Lia excitedly looked behind at Felix for a moment before shooting her head back towards me as I was almost done with making his coffee.
"A library date with a stranger, how romantic~ Yuri, you can't let this guy get away. You won't find anyone like that again if you miss this chance."
I looked at her in disbelief, whisper-yelling "YAH, he is not some Victoria's secrets' perfume on sale that I can't let him 'get away'"
Lia sighed and shook her head as she made a sarcastic 'you will never prosper in life like this' look before taking orders of the other customers (who were also busy staring agape at the newcomer).
Walking towards him, I handed him his coffee, as he took it with a soft 'thank you.'
My mind was a mess. And there were two reasons behind it. First, I was not getting used to his beautiful self and how low his voice was. Second, I was trying to think of ways to keep the conversation going since we weren't exactly strangers anymore, so I tried to start a light casual conversation.
"Uh, I've been working here since a year but I never saw you around." I spared him a smile.
He sipped his coffee. "Oh, I am actually new to this neighbourhood. I moved in here last week." I nodded as I mouthed an Ohh.
And that's when Lia came in with a smile too wide.
"Yuri, how about you go hang out with your friend here? Don't keep him standing like that! There aren't many customers today so Jeongin and I can manage."
My head shot towards her in shock, meeting the very evident evil grin plastered on her face.
"Yeah, if you're not busy we can do that!"
I turned my head towards the friend, this time in confusion.
"I mean, if you don't mind. I don't have any friends here at the moment to explore the neighborhood, sooo." He trailed off.
Surprisement took over my features for a split moment as hesitation washed over me.
It's just a tour around the neighbourhood.
Taking a deep breath as thoughts in my mind ran wild, I spared him a small smile before going to the staff room and untying my apron. Letting my hair loose, I looked at the mirror for a brief moment as Lia came up behind me.
"You look pretty even if you wear a potato sack. Now, get yourself outta here!" I laughed at her funny remark. "Whatever you say, Lia. I am just gonna show him across the neighborhood."
Having that said, I went out as I walked towards him, my heart skipping a couple of times along the way from being nervous.
"Well, let's go."
