Time seemed to stop within the dark space.

Literally.

Because for some reason the group of friends were chatting right nearby when they could just chat in the canteen or somewhere.

My luck is like a bald guy who just won a comb.

"W-why is this storage room so small?" I whispered awkwardly as I shifted in an attempt to put some space between us. Piles of cardboard boxes and books were flooded on the ground, the reason why we weren't able to move. Plus it was as dark as the black hole. The perfect cherry on top.

"I-I don't know." Felix whispered back except that his voice dived in 10 octaves deeper and whispering made it worse.

I am sure he is able to hear the aggressive beating of my heart right now.

'Triiiing'

Our heads shot towards the noise as hope sparked in me.

Everyone will leave for classes now. We can get out without anyone seeing us.

I was so eager to get out.

Being this close with him for any longer will result in my heart to shut down for good.

Hearing the footsteps of them walking away with their voices get distant till there weren't there anymore, I slowly twisted the doorknob before peeking outside.

Finally.

I opened the door as I got out before he followed.

Light.

I never imagined spending a few moments in the dark with him will make me miss light so much.

Now what?

I nervously laughed as I tried to avoid eye contact.

It wasn't the same with him though.

Letting out a chuckle, he came forwards before ruffling my hair as dirt particles sluggishly dropped to the ground around me.

Heat rose to my cheeks for the umpteenth time as I stood there motionless.

"We h-have to go now, classes are starting."

Felix's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh yeah."

I started walking as he followed closely behind. I slowed down.

"Uh, Felix? I think we should go separate ways."

He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Why? Aren't our classes in the same direction from here?"

Here goes.

"Felix, the reason I have been avoiding you a little bit is the attention. You have become a hot topic in school with girls from every class gawking at you. And if anyone sees both of us together, alone especially, rumors are going to spread like wildfire and I am going to become the fresh new prey of the carnivores at school, and I don't want you to get entangled in those messes too. I wasn't angry or anything about you not telling me that you're transferring here. To be honest, it was really sweet of you to keep it a surprise."

It felt as if a weight was that had been pushing down on shoulders was finally lifted off. I tucked my hair behind my ear, looking away as we both walked.

"Wow, girls are gawking at me?"

I went speechless.

Mischief laced his tone.

My mouth opened and closed like a fish before finally finding the ability to speak which I had lost for a moment.

"Don't tell me you blocked out hearing anything else after that."

Felix laughed heartily before he spoke, voice turning soft. "I would rather get entangled than having to stay away from you."

I tried to ignore the butterflies that fluttered in my stomach at that. Not knowing how to reply, I changed the topic.

"Felix, you don't wanna get late on your first week here."

He widened his eyes. "Shit, I keep forgetting that. See you later!"

He sprinted off for class as I made a run for mine the other way.

"So she had come in with messy hair and a face flushed red. That means only one thing." Jisung nodded his head with a serious face as Lia listened in closely, meanwhile I was baffled looking at the two.

"Don't you both have a life?"

"She had a make-out session."

I fell off the sofa as I stared at the two sitting on the table laughing, Jisung beating the table while he did so and Lia pointing at me with one arm and holding her stomach with the other.

"Are you guys out of your minds?"

"Honey, give us a better explanation."

"You know what, I give up." I held my hands up in defeat as explaining might make it worse.

They have the ability to make things worse out of the worst.

I picked myself off the floor, walking to the table as I grabbed my phone before sitting beside Lia. "When are they both coming?"

Lia shrugged and few minutes later, the doorbell rang. "They're here!" I stood up before going to the door to open it.

"You guys are la-"

My mouth went agape as my eyes popped out of their sockets.

Because Felix was standing at my doorstep as he smiled at me nervously before lifting his small hand to do a tiny wave.

"Hey."
