I woke up in high spirits today. Who doesn't love Fridays? Plus I'm going out with Jas and spending the weekend at her place. I'm really nervous about that part though. I have no idea what to expect so I'll let her take the lead. I kept on opening my closet to look at my dress for tonight and I would throw myself on the bed out of excitement. After getting dressed I went downstairs and joined my parents for breakfast. “Someone looks very happy today.” my mom said without looking at me.
I ignored her and continued eating my oats. “Are you spending the night at her place?”
I saw my dad looking at me and I looked down. I'm 25 I should be able to spend the night or weekend at my partner's place right? “I'll be at her place for the entire weekend.” I said the weekend part in a low tone.
“Haibo Khanyi! The entire weekend?”
“Stop being dramatic Ngcobo. It's just a weekend.”
Woah! Hold the brakes. Angelique Ngcobo the drama queen is on my side. Now this is a first. “Mom are you sick or something?”
“Nope. I'm perfectly fine.”
“Okay.” I said looking at her suspiciously.
I still had time so I helped her clear the table and wash the dishes. “So are you excited cupcake?”
I'm not used to this side of Mom. We used to have these conversations when I still dated Zayn. “I am but I'm also nervous.” I said to her while rinsing the dishes.
“It's so nice seeing you this excited about going on a date. I want all the details Sunday.”
Okay this is my que to leave. I grabbed my car keys and left.

When I got to the office Rendz was sitting on Kieran's desk. I adore their relationship. “Hey lovebirds.” I said in passing.
Rendani made her way to me. “Are you ready for your date?”
Why is everyone making it such a big deal! It's just a date. “I've been ready.”
“Okay that's not the only thing I wanted to ask. Are you ready for the shebang bang as well?”
Okay. Now I'm confused. What the hell is the shebang bang? “What's the shebang bang?”
I heard Kele laughing that ugly laugh of hers standing behind me. “Manje wena where you coming from?” I asked her.
“That's none of your business. You really have no idea what the shebang bang is?”
“I wouldn't have asked if I did.”
She laughed again. “It's sex you dummy. Mara le wena Rendz, you too old to be using such words.”
“Sex sounds so... Okay whatever! So are you ready for that part?”
I looked at them and smiled shyly. “Don't you have work to do you two?”
“Okay. I see what you are doing. I was planning on giving you some tips but..”
“Wena Rendani! What do you mean give her tips?” Kele asked.
“Exactly that.” than she left.

During our lunch break I was the topic. You would swear they're going on a date. Now they want to eat my lunch as well. Come on! They were staring at me as if I'm a piece of steak.
“Babe let me taste. Where's my lunchbox?” Kele
“Since when do we bring each other lunchboxes Kele?”
I knew my friends were vultures so I packed some in another lunchbox. “Here's your lunchbox. You guys will have to share. Bring back my lunch.”
“Has anyone seen Khumo?” Alex asked.
“Now that you mention it, he has not been himself lately.” Rendani said.
“His baby mama is at it again.” Kieran.
“What did she do now?” I asked.
“Apparently Khumo is not allowed to bring ‘different women’ around her daughter. And when Khumo tells her the same thing, she says she's the mom and she knows best.”
“Okay. Now that's some messed up shit!” Alex.
“So what's the issue here exactly? Is it Khumo moving on with another female who happens to not be the baby mama?” I asked.
“I don't have the full details. I didn't want to push him. He looked miserable.”
“What a wow!”
We turned and looked at Kele. Always bringing the drama. “Yeyi lona keng?!” (What's the matter?!) Kele.
I  texted Jas and told her that it would be better if I met her at the restaurant instead of her picking me up. Okay maybe I don't want her meeting my parents just yet.

She replied.

Why do I get a feeling you don't want me meeting your parents? -Jas

Well she was right about me not wanting her to meet my parents but she doesn't have to know that right?!
