It's been three weeks since Lucille has been discharged. She had to have her therapy sessions with my therapist via Skype, while we looked for one this side.
I really enjoyed my time with Zandré on our previous dinner. I enjoyed his company, but as a friend not someone I would date. I have not gone clubbing since my last incident. Today we were going clubbing. I was a bit anxious about the idea of going clubbing.
Annabelle and Lucille were out shopping for tonight. So much fuss for only clubbing. The clubbing was not the only thing making me anxious. Next week I was going to South Africa. Me and Kele were planning a surprise baby shower for Rendani.
When Rendani told me that she's pregnant, I could not believe it. My Rendz. I gave Kele a call to finalize everything.
“Chommie!”
“Sthandwa sami.”
“I was about to call you babe. I miss you so much.”
“I miss you too babe. I can't wait to see you!”
“Is everything ready?”
“I told you to relax, everything is perfect.”
“How's Refentse?”
I heard her laugh.
“Bathong Kele!”
“Chommie, I can't wait for you to come. I have news to share with you.”
“Why don't you tell me now?”
“Nope.”Around 20h00 we were at club Apollo having fun. Well Annabelle and Lucille were. I was just looking around trying to balance the noise.
I have not had an episode in a while and I would like to keep it that way. These two are party animals! Every chance they get, they go clubbing. I always make excuses but today, I decided to tag along.
Worst day to tag along, because Bella is with her boyfriend and Lucille is with her girlfriend. I was the spare wheel.
I excused myself and disappeared to the bathroom. The noise was way better in there. I sat on a bunk chair that was in there. Weird. Why would there be a chair in the toilet?
The bathroom door opened and for a second my heart stopped beating.
“Hi, do you mind if I sit?”
I just stared at her. I could not believe my eyes. She looked like Jasmin. The eyes, the height and nose. I can't be drunk, I've only had one glass of wine.
“Hello?”
“Uhm, yeah.”
“The noise is so much better I here. I'm Tyrel by the way.”
“Scarlett.”
“Do you mind if I lit my weed?”
I shook my head. I wanted to ask her but I couldn't. As she lit up her joint, another female came in and joined us as well. I assumed they knew each other. The three of us smoked the joint.
“So, Tyrel, do you know someone by the name of Jasmin Wood?”
She started coughing up badly. She immediately laughed as if she was not coughing like a dying chicken a second ago.
“What has she done now?” she shook her head while trying to contain her laugh. “Yes I know her and no, she's not my sister.”
“How do you know her?”
“Let's say we used to know one another, but she's a slut!” she shrugged her shoulders. “I'm going to assume that she used you as well.”
“Yeah.”
I've been in here for a while now. “Ladies, I have to leave now. Pleasure meeting y’all.”On my way out I bumped into Bella and Lucille.
“Where you shitting bones in there?” Bella asked.
“No.”
“She smells of weed.” Lucille
The plan was to not get drunk. Lucille and her girlfriend, were busy exchanging saliva. While Bella and her boyfriend were grinding on one another. I left them and went to the bar area.
I ordered a berry virgin cocktail. Never heard of such but we learn as we go.
I smelt a familiar earthly, manly scent. I turned to my right and it was not ‘Him’. I just smiled at the gentleman. I didn't want to look like a creep...Getting a drunk Bella, in the house was a mission impossible. Her boyfriend should be carrying her inside but, they had a big fallout before we left. Now I had to struggle to get her to her room, because Ms Santos and her girlfriend locked themselves in the bedroom.
“How could he do this to me? Huh, why?”
“What are you talking about Bella?”
“That stupid prick who used to be my boyfriend.”
Okay, now I'm lost. “Just sleep we'll talk tomorrow.”The following morning, I went jogging. On my way back, I bought breakfast. After our breakfast I have to get ready and go see aunt Nomvelo in Queens. I found Lucille and her girlfriend making out on our couch.
“Come on! You two, we sit here. Euw.”
Did they stop? No. They continued with no care in the world.
I checked on a drunk Bella and she was still sleeping. I took a shower before having my breakfast. Those two were still naked on the couch. Must be nice.
I had my breakfast before my ride came. My aunt sent someone to fetch me every Sunday.
Sundays were reserved for her. We cooked up a storm and baked on Sundays. The cookies went to charity.
“Ntombi, did you book your flight because on Thursday you're leaving?”
“Yebo aunty. Uphi uSamantha?”
“That one! She's at her place, said something about work.”
Samantha is a journalist. She's my aunt's last born.“Khanyisile, are you ready to go back?”
I sat on the stool and heaved a sigh. “I'll never know until I try.”
“I'm so proud of you cupcake.” she stood behind me and squeezed me tightly.
“Aunty!”
Let's video call that crazy mom of yours.”
I heard her husband laughing in the dining room.
“Mfazi womlungu!”
“Nomvelo! It's too early for this. I just came back from church and the pastor did mention that the devil would call me today. Phuma satan!”I tried to contain my laugh, but I did not expect my mom to say ‘phuma satan’ to my aunt.
“Is that my baby? Kleintjie?”
“Hi mom.”
I saw tears in her eyes. The drama.
“Oh, my baby I miss you so much.” I heard her calling my dad.
“I miss you too mommy.”
I saw my handsome daddy on the screen. “Khanyi?”
“Sawubona Baba.”
“Unjani nana?”
“I miss you and mom so much.”
“We miss you too. So badly. Are you still coming on Thursday?”
“Yes.”
“Kleintjie, have you seen Indigo?”
“Mom, Indigo is in Germany. But after she gave birth, I went to see her. That baby is adorable.”
“That's not a sign of you saying you're pregnant right?”
“Kodwa Baba!”
We said our goodbyes. I had a huge smile on my face. After baking and delivering cookies and muffins to different charity organisations. I was exhausted! I just wanted to take a long bath and sleep afterwards...
