“It's good to be home.” I removed my shoes in our room.
“I've missed our bed as well, Mrs Mulaudzi.”
I smiled. “Say that again.”
“Mrs Mulaudzi.”
“Mauritius was fantastic, we have to go back again.”
“I agree.”
I stripped all the way to our bathroom. “Babe, come and join me in the shower.”
“Say no more!”
Spending a week in Mauritius, with my husband was everything diamonds and pearls. One thing we realised is that, we never stop learning something new, about one another.Later on at work, I had a message from my husband;
Get something nice to wear, I'm taking my wife out for dinner tonight...I smiled reading the message. I called him, he answered on the first ring.
“Mr Mulaudzi, were you holding your phone closeby, waiting for me to call?”
“My ancestors gave me a sign that my beautiful wife is about to call.”
“Where are you taking me?”
“Just get something to wear.”
“Is it a fancy place or in between?”
“I don't know.. it's that new place in Fourways.”
“Okay, I love you, bye.”
“I love you more.”During lunch time, I drove to the hospital to see my gynaecologist. Upon arrival, the receptionist told me to go in and see the doctor.
“Mrs Mulaudzi.”
“Hi doctor.”
“Have a seat. So, tell me what's wrong?”
“Me and my husband have been trying so hard, for me to get pregnant, with no luck.”
“Have you been on any sort of birth control?”
“Yes, but I stopped taking them, months before we got married.”
“Our bodies are different, Mrs Mulaudzi, some fall pregnant immediately after stopping. Some take months even years.”
“I know that, I just thought we wouldn't struggle because I was once pregnant but had a miscarriage.”
“I'm sorry about that. Just to be on the safe side, let's do a transvaginal ultrasound to see if everything is okay in there. Okay?”
I nodded. I went into the bathroom to change.
“Okay, please lay on the bed. There might be a slight discomfort, but it won't take long...”I got dressed and sat on the chair.
“Everything looked good. I didn't see any scarring, blocked fallopian tubes, nothing. Maybe your blood results will bring some light. Until then, just relax and stop stressing.”I didn't have time to buy something for dinner. I have a few new outfits I have not worn. I was worried about my results.
I wore my grey low V neck satin blouse and mocha brown split thigh skirt. Lutendo walked in as I put on my clear stilettos.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes.” I loosened up two buttons of his teal blue shirt. He gave me a kiss.Dinner didn't go as planned. My mind was not there. What if I'm barren? Lutendo realised that something was wrong with me. I kept on saying I'm okay, but he didn't believe me. I told him everything, that I went to see a gynaecologist. If we were using different cars, he would have left me at the restaurant.
He has not said anything in the car.
“Babe, I'm sorry, but I was going to tell you.”
Silence
“Lutendo!” he looked at me. “We promised to talk to one another, no matter how angry the other is.”
“Funny how you remember that promise, when you forgot that we also don't keep secrets from each other.”
He disappeared into the bathroom. Minutes later he came out smelling fresh.
“Babe?”
He grabbed his laptop and banged the door on his way out.
I stayed up waiting for him but it looked like he was not coming to bed. I got out of bed to find him. The light was on in the spare room. It was slightly open, so I could see him on the bed. I went in.
“Don't tell me you're sleeping in here?”
“Khanyisile.. I don't want to do this with you right now.”
Did he just call me Khanyisile? “We've never slept in different rooms. Let's not start tonight.”
He switched off the side lamp and faced another direction. I tried my luck and went under the covers. At least he didn't kick me out of the bed.
I snuggled closer, he turned to my direction and wrapped his arms around me. “I'm really sorry baby.”I woke up a bit earlier to make us breakfast. I don't like the tension in our home. The weather looked good today, I took our breakfast outside. Lutendo came down, when I returned to fetch the juice and coffee. “I thought we could have breakfast outside?”
He just followed me outside. Under normal circumstances, my man would have told me how sexy I look in his shirt.
“When are you getting your results?”
“Tomorrow morning.”
Silence
“Babe, please don't shut me out. I know I should have told you.”
“I have never put you under pressure to get pregnant. I don't understand. What's going on now?”
“Lutendo, I know your family is wondering why I have not fallen pregnant yet. By now I should be pregnant, but nothing has happened. What if I'm barren?..” I wiped my tears.
“So, you hid the fact that you went to see a gynaecologist because of a conversation you heard? Make me understand.”
“I needed to know if I'm barren or not. I want to have your babies. Don't you get it!”
“Don't you dare raise your voice at me when you talk. Did we not make vows to stay with each other, in health and sickness? We're supposed to do such things together as a couple. It's supposed to be me and you against the world. We don't keep secrets, no matter what. Yes my family was asking stupid questions about when we're having babies and all that crap. But if you had stayed a bit longer, you would have heard my parents telling the noisy family members, that we will have children when we're ready.” he got up and left.I only had evening classes to give. During lunch time, I drove to Smith's Financials, to talk with Kele. I had on a mocha brown plunging V neck bodysuit and mom jeans...
“Hi, Chommie.”
“This is a nice surprise. What brings you here?”
I sat on her desk. “I messed up.”
“Let's go get some coffee.”
We sat outside at a coffee shop. “Talk to me Chommie.”
I told her the entire story and her silence was not a good sign.
“So?”
“I'm not taking sides, I get it, I understand why you went to see a doctor but your husband should have known. I also understand why Lutendo is not happy. You two do everything together, you don't keep secrets from each other. I really don't know what to say. Just keep on apologising, he will eventually see things from your point.”
“Okay. I didn't see Rendani, where is she?”
“She had to go home, Kylee is not well.”My evening classes went well but my mind was not there. Arriving home, Lutendo was not yet home. I tried calling but it went straight to voicemail. I stayed up, waiting for him but it looked like he was not coming.
In my deep sleep, I heard our bedroom door open. The time on the clock read 23h00.
I pretended to be asleep, he came to the side of my bed and gave me a kiss.
“I know you're awake.”
“I tried calling you.” I switched on the lamp
“I know, I had to drive to Rustenburg, to meet up with a supplier. I met an old friend and we had a catch up session, before I knew it, it was late. I'm sorry.”
“Couldn't you go tomorrow?”
“The meeting was for tomorrow, but you're getting your results tomorrow.”
“Thank you.”
“Move over.” he pulled me to him. We just lay there without saying anything.
“I'm really sorry mufunwa.”
“I know.. I know you are.”
“So, you're not angry anymore?”
He shook his head.“Fuck! Khanyi.”
I put my hands on his chest, moved up and down. He spanked me twice.
“Ahh, yes.”
He grinded from underneath. His balls slapping against me. I moved my waist like a belly dancer. His groans, fuelled me to go on. My core tightened and I moved faster until I came. I collapsed on top of him.
He turned us around, so I was at the bottom. I lay on my stomach, he slowly inserted himself. “Aahhh.” we both moaned.
He went faster and pulled my hair. Our bodies slapped hard against one another. “Yes.. aahh.. yes.”
He pulled out and turned me again. My legs were on his shoulders. He rammed into me and his balls slapped against me, creating a nice sensation. His hand went around my neck and pressed.
“Baby!”
He pressed my neck a bit harder, I felt my core tightening again and my toes curling. He gave me one more stroke and pinched my clit. “Let go baby..”
I let go, my orgasm hit me hard. I felt my soul leaving my body. He didn't stop thrusting, he fucked me through my orgasm, chasing his.
“I love you Mrs Mulaudzi..” he gave me one more stroke...
