A month later...
Rendani was planning a housewarming party for herself later on tonight. I was looking for something to wear to go and help her get everything ready for tonight. Next week me and Kele are also moving into our apartment. I'm so excited.
I was trying to wear my jeans when I heard someone knocking. “Come in!” it was Zodwa. “Please help me zip these jeans.” Another strange thing is that my clothes are starting to get smaller. My breasts have also become a bit bigger. Not that I mind.
“Kodwa Khanyi this jean doesn't fit you anymore.” she said trying to zip the jeans but it kept on unzipping. I was also getting frustrated. I wanted to cry. “Yeka, I'll find something to wear.” my eyes were becoming blurry. Zodwa just looked at me and shook her head. I looked at her expecting her to tell me why she's shaking her head.
“Yini wena?!”
“Lutho.”
“Don't lutho me. Don't you dare! Are you trying to say I'm loosing my mind?”
“You see why I kept quiet? You have become this emotional being, you scare me sometimes.” I just sulked because she was telling the truth. If I wasn't dating Jas, I would say I'm definitely pregnant. Oh don't get me started on the weird cravings.
“I don't know why I'm behaving like this as well, MaZet.”
“Are you sure sure you're not pregnant?”
“I'm certain. I mean how? A dildo can't get me pregnant.” we both laughed.
“Maybe it's just your hormones sthandwa sami.”I ended up wearing leggings and a tank top. I called Rendani to tell her I'm on my way. Judging by the noise, Kele was already there. I was playing music when Jas called. I smiled.
“Hey baby.”
“Someone is in a good mood. Hi baby.”
“I have no reason to be moody.”
“I love this happy side of you.”
“Well I have a girlfriend called Jas, she treats me so good. Don't get me started on the sex...” Jas laughed.
“I'm so jealous of this person making you happy.”
“What will you be doing today babe?”
“I'm planning on resting. Decorating for weddings is much harder than I had thought.”
“But she loved your work. She even recommended you to her friend, who is getting married in three months time.”
“Yeah you right. And with this wedding I have more time.”
“You see. Plus I've seen your work, you're good at what you do babe.”
Fourways is really not that far. Rendani was driving in, as I was about to drove in as well. I got out of my car and admired the house. It was beautiful. Not too big for someone who would be staying by herself. I went to where they were standing. “My lovings.” I hugged her and Kele.
“She's finally here.”
“Stop with the drama. I didn't take that long.” I rolled my eyes.
“So where's your luggage? You won't be wearing leggings and that tank top right?” Kele asked.
“What's wrong with what I'm wearing? Uyadina wena Keletso.”
“Wena Khanyisile these days you're so short tempered. What's wrong with you?”
“I don't know okay!” I could feel my tears threatening to come out. “I don't know as well.”
They both looked at each other, then looked at me. “You really have to see a doctor babe. This can't be normal.” Rendani said.
“I will. You have done good for yourself babe. This place is beautiful. I'm so proud of you.” I hugged her again.
“Thanks my love.”
We looked around and Kele was nowhere to be found. Rendani showed me the rest of the house and we went outside. It was nice and sunny. The person who was living here before took good care of their garden. It looked breath-taking. Kele ran towards us screaming her lungs out. “Keng wena?” Rendani asked her.
She sat on my lap. I looked at her, she knows she's heavy but Kele is selfish.
“Chommie you remember that hot client of yours?”
I was so confused. Me and hot clients. I shook my head no.
“Eish wena Khanyisile. The one I thought you would make cute babies with?”
“You always think we can make cute babies with everything that has a dick Kele.” Rendani.
“Whatever Rendani. His name is Refentse chommie.”
My eyes widened. “Yoh Kele! Why didn't you say so in the beginning? That hot one. Yeah what about him?”
Before she could reply me, Rendani interrupted her. “I was surprised to see you too chatting like old friends Khanyi. He is such a nice guy.”
I looked at her. “You know him as well?”
“Yeah. We used to go to the same highschool. Him grade 11 and I grade 8. I even invited him to the housewarming.”
Kele started screaming again. “Someone is getting laid tonight. Okay listen here, you better not say this to anyone.” we moved closer to her to listen to her. “We are kind of dating.”
“Shut the front door you slut!”Hours later...
Me and Kele were doing final touchups on our makeup. The theme was white and blue. Knowing black people, someone is going to show up wearing a complete different colour. I had on a white mini dress that had gold straps. Paired it with light blue, strappy block heels. We took selfies and locked the room before we went and joined Rendani in the lounge. “You two look so sexy.” Rendani said.
Kieran and the rest of the crew had arrived. We were having shots and chatting. Kele was so glued to her phone, she was not participating in anything we were saying. People were now arriving in numbers and most had listened and stuck to the theme. There was I think only two or three who decided to stand out. I grabbed Kele and dragged her to a less crowded corner.
“Is Refentse still coming?”
“I don't know chommie but he said he is.”
“So lighten up my love. If he said he is coming then he is. Stop looking like a lost puppy.”
We headed to the drinks corner and had the punch. I have no idea what's in the punch but it hits the spot. Rendani was all over the place and exchanging saliva with her man. I called Jas to speak to her just before she sleeps if she's already not.
“I must really be special. Twice in a day my love.”
“Don't annoy me Jasmin Wood. Please don't. I just wanted to hear your voice before you sleep.”
“I saw the pictures, baby you look like a goddess. A sexy goddess. I just want to rip off that dress and hide my face between those sexy thighs.”
“Whose child are you! You such a bore.”
“I love you my love.”
“Where does that come from?”
“I'm not allowed to just tell you that I love you?”
“I love you too my lief. Baie lief vir jou.” I cut the call smiling from ear to ear.
“Someone is in love.”
I turned around and found Refentse. “You're here?”
“I'm here. Just got here and saw you.”
“I see.” he was definitely looking for Kele from how he was scanning the entire room. “Are you looking for someone Refentse?”
“Huh? Oh me. No I'm not looking for anyone.”
“Okay let's go get some drinks.” I texted Kele to ask where she is. I didn't want to tell her that her man is here. I looked at him. I smiled. “Refentse I know you looking for Kele.” I said as I poured another glass of that punch, and took a plate that had snacks.
He looked at me for a while first before he replied. “Okay fine, I am looking for her. Do you know where she...” I followed his eyes to see what had caught his attention. It was Kele. I left them there and mingled with other people.
I left the noise inside to go and chill at the garden. It was more peaceful.
“What's a beautiful lady like you doing outside sitting alone?”
I looked up and smiled. “It's peaceful outside. The noise was getting a bit too much.”
“I see. I'm Mandla Khumalo by the way.”
“Khanyisile Ngcobo.”
“Do you mind if I sit?”
I looked at him for a while. Not my type. “Yeah sure no problem. How do you know Rendani?”
“From Polokwane. We met there. Wena?”
“We work together and formed a friendship.”
“I hope I'm not overstepping right now kodwa umuhle ntokazi. I could spend my entire time just looking at you.”
I didn't expect that. I looked down and blushed. “Ngiyabonga.”
We continued to talk some more until his fiance called. He had to rush to the hospital.
I was sleepy so I went to the spare bedroom and changed into PJs and slept.Waking up in the morning, Kele was not next to me. It didn't even look like she slept here. I checked the time on my phone and it was 07h30. I got up, stretched then headed to the bathroom to wash my face. On my way there I could hear voices from the lounge. I tiptoed there and there she was smiling and giggling with Refentse. They looked so good together. I ended up bathing instead of just washing my face. I made breakfast for everyone and cleaned around the kitchen. Out of nowhere I started feeling nauseous. I looked at the expiring dates of everything. It was still fresh. Must be just babalaas I said to myself.
After breakfast we cleaned around the house and I went back home.
