"Should I even ask how therapy went?" Kele said from the kitchen.
I took out a bottle of water in the fridge and sat down. "It was hectic Mmata. Very hectic."
"Askies babe. I made fried rice and creamy chicken with mushroom sauce."
"Yummy. I'm quickly going to take a bath."
"Did Lutendo take you to therapy today?"
"Nope, my dad drove me there today."
I sent him a text to let him know that I'm back from therapy.
I decided to take a long bath instead of showering. I haven't spoken to Mpumi in a while. I video called her.
"Ngani ka Gatsha."
"Sisi wami, unjani?"
"I'm okay. Wena unjani?" (how are you?)
"I've seen better days. Uphi umyeni wami?" (where is my husband?)
"Grandparents house."
I raised my brow. "He only visits the grandparents on weekends. What's going on?"
"I didn't want to tell you this because I felt bad."
"Bad about?"
"You are going through the most and I've seen you only once."
"Can you get to the point Sisi?"
"Me and Yarona have been seeing each other a lot. Like a lot. We decided to give us a chance and he had some business meeting this side, so I offered my place for accommodation."
"Ini?!"
"You said you won't judge me MaKhanyis."
"I'm not judging you Mpumelelo. Do you love him?"
"Is it not too soon for love?"
"Weee Jesu! Anyway enjoy whatever it is that you two are doing. Have fun. I love you."
"I love you too.""You should be a chef babe, this is delicious."
"Don't make my head bigger than it is please." we both laughed.
"Kele?"
"Yes."
"I love you so much Chommie."
She got up from her seat and came to my side. She checked my temperature. "Are you dying babe? Must I call Lutendo to take you to the hospital?"
"Really Kele?"
"So you're not sick?" she went back to her chair.
"I appreciate you being here with me. You have stuck with me through my worst and I'm so grateful. That's all that I wanted to tell you."
"Ncoahh, I love you too my friend. You annoy me sometimes but I love you."
After washing the dishes we watched some TV.
"How's the gang?"
"Kieran and them?"
"Yes."
"They're okay but they miss you."
"I miss them too."
An hour later we both retired to our rooms.
My head felt very heavy and I was a bit dizzy. I drank painkillers and slept.Around 04h30 in the morning I was up already. I couldn't sleep. The headache was still very much there. I tried getting up but I fell back on the bed. Now that's weird. I opened my side drawer to get more painkillers when a watch caught my eye.
I smiled while touching it. Whatever love potion Lutendo gave me, is working. My phone rang and it was him. I had on a huge smile while answering his call.
"Hello?"
"Good morning and why are you up at this time?"
"No reason at all."
"If you say so. How was yesterday's session?"
Silence.
"Khanyisile?"
"I'm still here. It was fine."
"Fine? What happened?"
"A lot happened Lutendo, nothing interesting."
"No need to bite my head.. I was just asking."
"I'm sorry I know you meant well. I just have a mild headache."
"Okay, I have to go to gym before getting ready for work."
"I said I'm sorry."
"And I said okay, I have to go. Bye."
What a way to start one's morning!
I couldn't go out to jog or go to the gym but I still wanted to be fit. I read somewhere that yoga is great for the mind, soul and body. I was on YouTube to get more information on what I had to do as a beginner.
I tried a few moves and got bored. I'll try another time...I did some spring cleaning and laundry to pass some time. The academy had called to enquire about when I'm returning to the academy and I had no idea. I missed the place but I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that just yet. I asked them to cancel my membership until further notice. It made no sense to pretend that I'll be returning anytime soon, when I know that's not happening.
I decided to cook before getting ready for my therapy session. I made some curry rice, beef stir fry, creamy spinach and pumpkin.
Everything was ready besides the rice. I went and got ready as it cooked. I wore my yellow summer dress and sandals. I was not sure about the outfit but I took in a deep breath and let it out. I put on some accessories and a bit of lipgloss. Kele was already home and I had asked her to make sure my rice does not burn.
"You look gorgeous babe."
"Really? I was not sure about the dress. It's not too revealing right?"
"It's perfect! I'm glad that you're finally wearing dresses again. Your healing process is coming along nicely."
"I also feel a bit confident. Do you think his going to like it?" I felt so stupid asking that. "Actually I don't care if he likes it or not."
"All I know is that you look absolutely pretty. He would be a fool not to notice."
We heard someone knocking. Kele went to open. My dark chocolate walked in, wearing a slim fitted suit pant and a crisp white golf shirt.
"Hi Khanyisile, can we go?"
"Yeah, let me fetch my phone and bag."
