It's our last day here and I don't want to leave. Not because the place is beautiful but because I feel like the world is spinning. I don't even want to get out of bed. If I didn't have to work tomorrow I would leave tomorrow but I do. I heard the door open and I tried lifting my head up to see who it was but my head was way too heavy. It felt like someone was sitting on top of my head.
"The princess is finally up I see."
"Do you have to be so damn loud Indigo?"
She threw herself on the bed and laid next to me. "What time are we heading back to Johannesburg?"
"I don't know. I feel..." I didn't get to finish my sentence. I rushed to the bathroom, to vomit. I'm sure I left my intestines and kidneys in the toilet. I got up, rinsed my mouth and washed my face before going back to the bedroom.
"You good?" she gave me a glass of orange juice and painkillers. "I don't know if it's a good idea to drink these.." she dangled the painkillers in the air.. "On an empty stomach."
"I don't think I can stomach anything right now. Are those two up?"
"Nope. Still very much asleep." I nodded my head and went back to sleep.Someone was roughly shaking me. I kept on pulling the blankets thinking they would stop. The person pulled the blankets off me. I grunted and woke up. "What?!"
"Are you planning on sleeping until tomorrow? You do know at some point we have to leave right?" Kele asked standing next to me.
"Kele I'm not strong like you. I'm tired. Why are you not tired in the first place?"
"My veins are full of alcohol instead of blood like you. Why do you think, I drink every chance I get?"
"Where's Rendani?"
"Also sleeping. I'm going to wake her up and get her in the shower." she walked to the door and before she left she said when she returns I must be ready as well.
After a while I got up and took a cold shower. It didn't sober me up but I felt better. I unplugged my phone from the charger and left. I met everyone outside. I laughed and shook my head the minute, my eyes landed on Rendani. I went to her and laughed some more. "I really thought I looked like shit but you take the trophy! You look like a stray dog, poured with water."
"Thanks for pointing the obvious Khanyisile. Thank you very much."
"You two should not drink more than you can handle. Leave the drinking for me okay?" Kele said.
Just when I thought we explored everything yesterday. Boom there's another place called the "flower garden". There were flowers everywhere. Not to overwhelm a person. Wow I could definitely get married here guys." Rendani mentioned in passing.
"This place is gorgeous." Kele.
We walked to the white roses section and sat on the grass to have our lunch. Rendani abruptly stood up and started screaming and running around. She was talking so fast no one could make sense of what she was trying to say.
"Just sit down before you drive us crazy." Kele said annoyed.
I switched on my phone and the first thing that welcomed me were, missed calls from Jas and Kieran. Jas has never left so many missed calls. Who died? Maybe that's why she's acting like a mad woman. Rendani left us by the white roses and went to sit on the swing. I called Jas, to find out what's the story behind so many missed calls.
"Hey my I love."
Silence. I looked at the phone to make sure I dialled the right number. It is her number so what's with the silence? "Jas are you there?"
"I tried calling you but I couldn't reach you."
Is that why she's acting like a three year old baby? Because she couldn't reach me? So much drama. "My phone was off my love. I just switched it on now."
"Mhm. I see. Judging from the videos, I would switch my phone off as well."
Okay now I'm confused. "What videos baby?" I removed the phone from my ear and asked Indigo to check her social media accounts to see what's trending.
"You know what annoys me the most is that, not so long ago you were so hell bent on believing that I'm cheating. Just because my phone was off."
Now I was getting more nervous. I looked at Indigo and Kele. Looking at their faces, it wasn't great. "Babe I'll call you later. Bye." I immediately cut the call.
"So what's going on there?"
They were both laughing at whatever it is that they were looking at. Rendani made her way towards us. "Did I perhaps do something weird last night? Something embarrassing?"
"Let me guess. You were talking to Kieran right? I was talking with Jas just now and she's telling me about pictures and judging by how these two are laughing. We made fools out of ourselves."
They showed us the videos and we couldn't help but to laugh. "Really these idiots are angry because we were dancing?" okay maybe I shouldn't have said anything yet because the next video was just wild. I was dancing with one of the strippers. The very hot one. Oh snap! He picked me up and danced with me on the strip pole. "Damn that was sexy." I mumbled.
"Very sexy. This dude must be very strong. How the hell does he get the stamina to pick you up, and dance with you on a pole? If I was Jas, I would feel some way as well." Indigo.We were finally on our way to Johannesburg and the mood was not nice. Rendani was just in her feelings. It's worse for her because she works where Kieran works. Me on the other hand. I didn't know how to feel. The gospel songs playing on the car radio was not helping the situation. I played music from Kele's phone. She had those old RnB songs. Way better than the gospel songs. I deleted the videos I had posted on Instagram and Facebook. Pointless I know but I did it anyway. The next stop was my WhatsApp. I had a message from Lutendo;
Who knew that you could move like that? With laughing emojis. You only know me at the office. Outside the office space, I'm a wild animal. I replied.
I had to look at those videos twice to be certain that it's really you and Rendani. He replied.
It's definitely us. So you won't give us a day off tomorrow? I replied.
Not a chance. If you're going to be a party animal, you can deal with the consequences of being one. He replied.
We made a stop at the garage to use the bathroom, take a breather and buy energy drinks. I was the one driving now. Indigo was snoring at the back. I looked at Rendani. I cleared my throat. "Girl are you good? Was Kieran that harsh."
She breathed out. "He had no right to talk to me the way he did. He made it seem like I'm a slut and this is what I do on a daily basis."
"I'm sorry babe. Maybe we shouldn't have went out. I found that club in the first place."
She looked at me. "Don't you dare blame yourself. We went out to have fun and that's exactly what we did! That was harmless fun. A few weeks ago, Kieran was planning his brother's bachelors party and he was dancing with the strippers. I didn't make a fuss."
"I remember those pictures." Kele said at the back.
"As for me Jas was talking about how, I was accusing her of cheating weeks ago because she wasn't picking up my calls. So in other words, I was cheating on her." this bitch is crazy I said to myself.
"Finally were home!" I said getting out of the car and stretched.
"Girl I'm not staying I'm too tired. I just want my bed right now. Your parents won't mind right?"
"Nope let's just go in so they can see that were back in one peace."
I looked at Kele. "I'm also tired. You brought enough clothes right? We'll drive together to work. I'll drop you off when we knock off tomorrow."
"Yeah I think I have something decent to wear. One more day here won't make a difference. It's not like my aunt will notice that I'm not home."
I gave her a side hug. When she told me about the treatment she got back at home. I couldn't believe it. She didn't look like someone with so much pain. I noticed that there was a new car I didn't recognise in the driveway. We took out our luggage and went inside the house. "Awu suka madoda! Ingani kaGatsha ye stripper madoda."
I laughed and made my way to Msizi. "Uyaphapha kodwa Msizi yoh." I gave him a tight hug. "Ufunani la?"
He raised his brow. "Last time I checked this was still my parents home. Am I in the wrong house?" he kept on spinning and giving me a headache. Indigo made her way to us and hugged Msizi as well. "This is a nice surprise."
"At least someone appreciates me being here." I rolled my eyes. He greeted Kele and Rendani before going outside to the garden.
"I'm going to find my parents quickly, so you can leave."I kept on trying Jasmin's number but it didn't go through.
Indigo and Kele both made their way in my room. Indigo has her own room but she prefers sleeping in mine. Now Kele is joining us as well. These two!
"Judging by that frown on your face, Jas is not picking up your calls right?" Indigo and her senses. I just nodded my head and faced the other side and slept.
