Time seemed to stand still as my eyes met the familiar gold of the beast, only he wasn't a monster...he wasn't even a creature anymore he was a man. An actual living person.

Reality seemed to come crashing down as I tried to understand what was happening. Was I imagining this? Had I lost enough blood now that I was hallucinating? Or was I simply dead from that freaky hunter shooting me in the head, and now I was seeing an angel ready to sweep me away?

The smallest smile that formed on his lips made my stomach flutter as I was entranced by the mere sight before me. The beast....the wolf... Was now standing before me as a man...was I losing my mind...

With shaky hands I reached up and touched his face, to confirm that what I was seeing was real. That this wasn't some fantasy. My fingertips grazed his cheeks and I could feel the warmth radiating from him, The same warmth that had kept me from freezing last night.

I installed sharply as His eyes closed as he leaned into my touch robbing his head against my hand as if it was the softest thing in the world.

This was real...

His relaxed features soon twisted into a painful grimace as his body shook, he was doing his best to keep himself upright as blood and water ran down his arm. Thunder rolled through the forest breaking my trance.

Snapping out of my shock I looked back over the mangled injury on his shoulder. Now wasn't the time to freeze up.

Sitting up, he moved off of me and leaned on his good arm, struggling with the burning pain he no doubt felt.

The shock of everything left me without a voice as I looked over him, unsure what to do or say. Standing, I helped him to his feet and we quickly shuffled back to our cabin, I didn't dare look back at the dead man across from us.

We stumbled inside and I slammed the door shut behind us. I let go of my companion as he fell to his knees gripping his shoulder in pain. Rushing over to the cabinet I grabbed what cloth I could and moved back over to him. We were both completely drenched and blood was dripping from his wounds at an alarming rate. I quickly laid him down and wrapped his injuries the best I could with the cloth that I had. Despite the wet and cold circumstances, I could see how pale his was as his body was burning up.

Even if he was shot with a full blast of shotgun pellets, there's no way it should be this bad. I couldn't remove the pellets so the best I could do was try and stop the bleeding for now.

I looked over his toned body and could see various scars littering his pale skin, each one seemed worse and much deeper than the last. His eyes were squeezed shut, as he laid on the floor panting.

Setting a pillow under his head I jumped as more thunder cracked outside, followed by a flash of lighting. Rain was pouring down on the small cabin nearly drowning out the man's breathing.
