I didn't say a word, I merely fell to my knees, feeling defeated...i failed everyone...but most importantly I failed Damien...

He nuzzled my shoulder but I wouldnt dare look him in the eyes...i broke my promise...

The sound of him shifting back made me hug myself and shut my eyes, I can't look at him I can't even face him after what I've done.

Before I knew what was happening I was pulled into his chest in a tight hug. I tried to push away but his arms just held me tighter and one of his hands moved to the back of my head to keep me still. I could feel his breath atop of my head as he mumbled.

"Do you have any idea how worried I was about you...how scared I was to lose you?..."

Tears formed in my eyes and I finally gave in and hugged him back just as tightly. I missed him... He held me close as I cried and tried to regain myself.

"I'm sorry Damien...im so sorry..."

He was silent for a moment before pulling back to make me look up at him. "I'm the one who should be apologizing...i wasn't there... For you when you needed me most...you've been through so much this past week...you've been so strong..."

"I'm not strong! All of this happend because of me! Renard, the village, Henry, now even you! All I've done is hurt everyone I've cared about! I've been a complete mess, I have no idea what im doing and now we are all stuck in this hell!"

"Sera...you forget...if it wasn't for you...i wouldn't be sane... You saved me from a fate far worse than death itself...everything you've done has been to protect those you care about done let him get inside your head... He wants you to doubt yourself to doubt me... You're stronger than you think...you're beautiful kind and understanding as well...so don't ever think im going to just let you go..."

I looked up into Damien's eyes and for once I felt calmer...i hugged him again and slowly cleared my mind of all the negativity and doubt I had. I didn't realize it until now but I could finally breathe again...with Damien...i could feel the self-doubt and grief fading...

Once I felt more composed I sat up straight keeping my head down, there were still many issues that needed to be taken care of...

"He has Henry locked up inside his quarters...he was shot when trying to rescue me..."

Damien stayed silent and glanced at the door in deep thought. "That explains the blood I smelt in the field... I tracked Henry all the way here because I couldn't find your scent..."

Silence filled the room and I started to sulk just thinking about Henry's current situation. Damien's warm hand moved to my cheek and I looked up only to have his forehead touch mine.

"We will get out of here...and henry will be fine...stop blaming yourself...he knew the risks of coming here alone..."

"But if I had just gone with him!"

"You wouldn't have gotten far before renards wolves chased you down...i was still two days out...you both would have just been captured if not killed...."

I bit my lip realizing he was right... "He wants me to become a hunter so he can revive the silver clan..."

"Revive?..." Damien looked at me questioningly.

"Yes...he was part of my clan he thought he was the only survivor after the wolves they had broken loose..."

Damien sat there silently watching me and after a moment he said something that made me freeze. "Why would he revive the tribe he blatantly slaughtered..."
