Opening my eyes I was blinded by sunlight breaking through the blinds. I squeezed my eyes shut as a throbbing pain made itself known.
"She's waking up..." Turning my head I opened my eyes to see amber and Irene sitting next to my bedside. They both looked relieved but not by much.
Irene's hands were hovering above my arm glowing with a strange light and I watched confused.
"I've been trying to suppress the pain but I can only do so much...."
Pushing myself to sit up I looked at the runes on my arm and remembered everything...how I had miserably failed. How im going to die and drag Damien with me...
Amber grabbed my other hand and moved closer with a smile. "Come on don't be upset things will work out! Irene is working tirelessly to find a solution you just gotta have hope!"
I gave amber a small smile but even her happy going personally wasn't making me feel much better...I've never messed up this bad before...
"She's right sera, im still looking for answers we won't let anything happen to you or Damien so I need you to stay focused...in the meantime I put some of my magic into your neckless not only can you communicate with the others it should also help with the pain...i am going back to my coven to find a way to break that curse and ill return in two days...until then you must be strong...
"I'll try..." Silence filled the room and amber shared a look with Irene before nodding. Irene stood and waved to us before leaving the room.
"Where's Damien?..." Amber avoided my gaze and bit her lip anxiously.
"He um...he brought you back last night and you were out cold but he refused to come inside...he hasn't really been able to shift back..."
What? He can't shift back? "Why?"
"Well the full moon is tonight and it kinda has weird effects on werewolves more so lycans, especially at it's peek... He should be fine but he's having a hard time controlling himself..."
"I see..." The full moon... It's been a month since that night... The night Damien took me away... It's almost hard to believe so much has happend in such a short period. I've only known him a month and yet...i love him.
Tears welled up in my eyes at the thought but it was soon interrupted as a wave of pain shot through my arm. "Ahhg!"
Amber jumped up out of her seat to grab my shoulders and support me. "Sera! Hold on ill get the doctor!"
I shook my head no as the sudden agonizing pain subsided leaving me breathless. My left arm felt like it was being sliced open or like lightning was coursing through it. "The doctor can't do anything..." I looked at the markings on my left arm and bit my tongue. This pain will just be a constant reminder of my failure...
Taking a deep breath I threw the blanket off and moved to get out of bed. "Sera where are you going..."
"To find Damien...i have to check on him."
She rushed over to my side grabbing my other hand seeming to worry that my left one would cause me pain. "Maybe you shouldn't, he's staying outside for a good reason the full moon makes him a bit...unpredictable... it's not safe."
"Our lives are already forfeit, I want to see him."
As the words came out of my mouth she seemed upset, but quickly blocked my way. "He asked me to keep you away from him... Just for today..."
