02. LETTERS ON EVERHILLS AVENU, WANDS ON DIAGON ALLEY
"I'M GONNA BEAT YOU, Teo!" Tobias de Oro screamed as he and Teodor raced around the house on brooms. Not magical brooms used for Quidditch, regular, muggle brooms used for sweeping.
"You wish, Tobi!" Teo yelled back and ran faster, catching up to his brother. They turned at a corner, running into the kitchen where Thomas sat at the table, reading a book.
"Hey, hey, no running!" Emanuel warned them and the two boys stood up. "And you two look pathetic riding around on the same broomsticks we use to clean the kitchen floor."
"But we're getting real ones today, right Papi?" Tobi looked at his father hopefully. "Because our letters arrive today, right?"
"Maybe." Emanuel shrugged and placed a plate full of pancakes in the middle of the table. "But eat your breakfast so you two have the strength to become Quidditch champs."
"You got it, Papa." Teo nodded with a smirk, grabbing a pancake and sitting down next to Tommy and across from Tobi. "Where's Thea?"
"Thea!" Emanuel yelled and upstairs in her room, the only de Oro girl laid on her bed. She stared up at her ceiling where paper birds hung with pieces of string, and Thea used magic to make the them move gently. Sitting up, Thea messed around with her curly hair and pushed up her glasses on her face as she walked downstairs. "Good morning."
"Morning." Thea smiled at her father and sat down next to Tobi as she did every day. Emanuel sat at the head of the table and the family began to eat. Thea grabbed a pancake, glancing at the empty seat next to her, the other head of the table. She bit her lip and tried not to sigh before Tobi nudged her shoulder, passing her the plate of strawberries.
It's been eight years since Alejandra de Oro died, and the quadruplets were now eleven years old. The day after the attack, Emanuel packed up the house and moved from London to upstate New York. The family now lived in a nice house, and to everyone else, they seemed like a completely normal family.
Emanuel didn't use magic as often ever since Alejandra, so the house appeared normal. He worked a regular job, wanting his location and his children's locations to remain completely unknown to the Wizard world, incase you know who ever wanted to come after them again. He sent his children to a Muggle elementary school, until now. The quads always knew about Hogwarts, and were absolutely fascinated by it. Tommy wanted to learn how to perform spells, Tobi and Teo wanted to play Quidditch, and Thea believed that if she attended Hogwarts, she would feel more connected to her mom.
Smiles grew on the de Oros' faces when they heard the sounds of an owl. The four immediately stood up, running to the front door. Teo got to the mail box at the end of the driveway first, grabbing the four letters.
He held the letters above his head as his siblings yelled at him, demanding their letters while the oldest brother laughed. Teo smirked, "Fine, fine."
