15. THINGS ARE CHANGING
THE REST OF THE QUADS' first year at Hogwarts flew by fast. After they returned from Christmas break, Teo sat with his siblings at lunch, spending every chance he got with them. He had a lot of time to make up for. Thea published more issues of the Howler, and the newspaper was quickly growing popular. She perfectly executed plenty of pranks with Fred and George, never getting a detention for them. Tommy and Eva were the only two first-years to get perfect marks on their exams, and they didn't stop talking about them for a week. Tobi and Cedric were each juniors players for the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff team, and Cedric got to play in the last game of the season because a Hufflepuff player was in the infirmary. He did well, and there was rumor that he would be taking the spot of seeker next year since the current one was graduating.
Alex began to sit at the Hufflepuff table with everyone else as soon as everyone returned from Christmas break. Nobody minded, he got along well with Ember and Ashton, who's mother recently went deaf and the twins were learning sign language to communicate with her. Alex talked about Quidditch with Cedric and Tobi, the boy was loved watching the sport but not playing.
Ignoring the strange looks they got from Professor Quirrell, the de Oro quads had a pretty good first year. Their second was even better. Thea tried out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and made it as a chaser and Cedric was the new seeker, as expected. Tobi was the keeper for Gryffindor and Teo a beater for Slytherin. Fred and George were beaters for Gryffindor. Casper tried out for the Slytherin team, but didn't make it, and Thea could tell he was relieved. He only tried out to please his father, who was sending the boy more and more letters to make sure he was behaving in the way he wanted.
Second year, Lily Mitz-Blanchet came to Hogwarts and as Alex guessed the previous Christmas, she was sorted in Gryffindor. She fit in well with the group, annoying her brother every chance she got and teaching the Weasley twins how to say swear words in sigh language. That year for Christmas break, the de Oros went to Weasleys for Christmas Day dinner, along with the Diggorys and the Mitz-Blanchets, and Remus joining them. Thea wrote to her godfather often, and he wrote back just as often. He stayed with them plenty in the summer going into the quads' second year, and he also took them on a few trips.
That same summer Thea and her brothers stayed a week at the Weasleys, another week in France with Alex and Lily, and another week in Spain with Valencia and Carina. Carina was always eager to hear about Hogwarts from her older 'cousins,' practically counting down the days till she would get to go. She also stayed a week at the Weasleys, writing a great deal to the youngest Weasley child Ginny, since the two girls would be starting Hogwarts the same year.
Second year included more issues of the Howler and more studying from Tommy and Eva, who were trying to beat each other for a better score on their exams at the end of the year. Cedric and Thea became important pieces of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, winning plenty of matches. Lily was a junior player for the Gryffindor team, wanting to join Tobi on the team next year.
