06. WHAT CAN HAPPEN
IN A MONTH

IT'S BEEN ALMOST A MONTH since the first day, and it seemed like Thea, Tommy, and Tobi had seen less and less of Teo. No matter where he was, he was always with Slytherins. And they understood that he was getting to know his house and the Slytherins were his house, but that didn't mean he couldn't spend any time with them.

The first day didn't exactly end well for the quads. After the study session, in which everyone there finished the assignment for Binns, was dinner. Tobi immediately went to go talk to Teo and the boy said how Slytherins were all in the common room.

"Should we invite him over?" Tommy asked, sitting at the Hufflepuff table in the Great Hall, next to Thea.

"What's the point?" Tobi scoffed, rolling his eyes and taking a bite of the apple he was eating. Tommy and Tobi both looked at Thea, who simply just stared down at her bowl of cereal, not saying a word.

It was breakfast time, and today marked one month since the first years arriving at Hogwarts. Meaning, they would begin to practice using broomsticks, and first years were now allowed to join extracurriculars at the school.

"It's been a month!" Poppy said excitedly as she and Silas sat down at the table. "I'm joining the frog choir."

"Frog choir?" Noelia tried not to laugh and Poppy glared her. "I mean— Good luck, Pop. Do you have to audition?"

"I have to sing a piece, but there's barely anyone attempting to join," Poppy rambled. "I'm sure I'll get in."

"Well, Georgie and I are gonna take our pranking around here a little bit more seriously." Fred declared and George nodded.

"Hm, so the days of detention you two have gotten in the past month weren't enough for you?" Eva looked at the twins.

"We were just getting started." George smiled.

"I'm gonna be a junior player on the Gryffindor Quidditch team," Tobi smiled. "I have to try out and I don't get to play in actual matches, but I do get to play with the team at practice! It's good enough for me."

"It is, Tobi," Tommy assured his brother. "That's pretty much going to guarantee you a spot on the team next year."

"He's right," Cedric agreed. "My father told me about it, suggests I do the same for Hufflepuff."

"You should, Ced." Thea whispered, giving the boy next to her a smile.

"And so she speaks." Fred smirked, glancing at Thea.

"What about you, sunny? What are you signing up for?" George wondered.

Thea shrugged, not having answer. "Nothing, actually. In our school district in New York, there are school newspaper, a newsletter written by the students. I hoped they would have one here, but they don't."
