She looked at me, noticing the anger in my eyes and the tight grip on my fist.

Then, she turned towards the guys.
"You better get lost, boys, or there will be consequences," she warned, placing her hands confidently on her hips.

The idiots then looked at me and ran away.
Something tells me this isn't the end of it. I'll get my hands on them one day.

"Why did you have to butt in lady. I was about to give them a genuine good beating," I said, picking up my bag from the floor

"You seriously expect me to just stand by and watch you beat them up? Violence isn't always the solution," she coolly replied, giving me the cold shoulder.

"Tsk. Yeah right, if you were watching, you could see how much they were asking for a rough beating, " I said walking away.

"You know for a girl like yourself, I can't believe you manage to even beat up people"

"What does that even mean??"

she sighs. "Hop on kid."

"What?"

"Are you deaf? I said hop on brat."

Is this lady serious?? What makes her think I'll hop on just because she tells me to.

"Don't keep me waiting, or I'll drag you up myself," she impatiently threatened.

"Or what?"

"Don't push me. Salome's fangs are highly poisonous, " she said as a joke to frighten me

Her snake then stared at me as if she was really about to bite me.

"Alright, alright! Fine. Just move your snake somewhere else, where I won't have to see it," I surrendered.

I hopped on and eyed her.
"What gives, lady?"

"It's Empress to you. And I'm giving you a ride back home."

"You know I can manage by myself," I argued

"Be grateful. I don't just pick up any lazy deadbeats off the freeway you know, " she said sounding irritated.

"Fine then why?"

"Because word got around that you got knocked down by one of your classmates during practice," she said, pausing as we reached a red light.

"You heard that, huh? I've never lost in a fight before. I guess there will always be some people who are stronger than me," I replied, feeling a bit defeated.

"Quit your whining. It was only practice, so stop moping. Besides, doesn't it feel strangely relieving to experience defeat once in your life?" she said with a peculiar tone.

"I suppose..." I trailed off, not fully convinced that defeat was a reassuring feeling. But maybe it does give me the motivation to become even stronger.
