Chap 46 - What Do I Do

the girls scowled as she threw her towel that was on her shoulder to her little group behind her

"So. what should I call you?" I spoke

she gives me a smirk. "You can call me .. Viper" 

i lowered my head to her, scanning her body. A tough, strong lass, who's about at least in her mid-20s. Her hair was in a tight bun as i could see veins popping out her gigantic forehead

A strong willed viper against me, The Empress Boa Hancock? I could last at least a second with this loser. But I can't, i shouldn't fight someone younger than me

"Forget it. I can't fight someone who is unquestionably on a lower level than me."

"Scared eMpReSs?" they all laughed

"Quite the opposite actually. I don't wanna break your delicate bones"

"The only person who's bones will be broken here are yours" and there, she put her right leg front and punched a straight jab directly to my face

I instinctively lifted my long, slender leg to deflect her blow. I didn't even have to move my body to kick her back down.

that's embarrassing for her

they all looked completely surprised. Viper or whatever she called herself, stared at me in shock but shook it off.

"Tch. That was just a practice round. let's see how you handle this real round," she scoffed, raising her fists again.

i sighed, boredly

"Look. I don't want to fight you, i'm just looking for someone"

"Shut up. You think i'm that weak that you won't even fight me?"

"What- no! Just tell me where the hell-"

Without even finishing my sentence, one of her goons came in and threw her towel at my face, which is when Viper managed to swing at my face.

It's interesting how this woman is a tad bit shorter than me but still managed to punch me at this angle.

i laughed at her arrogance. I removed that filthy towel from my face and faced them, looking unbothered

"I did say i'll kill anyone who's sweat and germs touches my face" I said, finally getting serious

Once more raising my leg, I hoped to push everyone into their lockers when the door opened. They were all on their knees when y/n entered.

She looked up at us with a look of surprise.

She repeatedly turned her head to the girls, then to me, then back to them.

She yanked my wrist out of the room while giving me a sour look.

she led me to an empty room and turned on the lights

"Gosh, empress. What the hell are you doing here?? And why are you picking on them when you know you're out of their league?"

"First of all, it definitely wasn't me to stoop down low to people but they really pushed my button. And second, i'm going to get you out of here."

"What? What for??!"

"Well.. um.." right.. i didn't ask why she's doing this in the first place

"This is an illegal organization Y/n. You're going to get yourself wrapped up in stupid crises again"

"What makes you think i care? Besides, i can make decisions for myself and i'm not leaving"

"Why are you even here in the first place?!"

she rolled her eyes in annoyance. "You're literally so confusing Empress. I left home to start a new path with nothing to distract me from and now you're back here again. G-d can't you give me a break??"

My chest felt oddly tightened when I hear her utter the last sentence.

I squinted my eyes at her. "Because i care about you y/n. I don't care whether or not you believe me but i don't like seeing you in a situation like this. especially in a death-defying ring combat."

".. i'm sorry empress but I promised an important old friend of mines that i'll do this .. for them"

".. fine" i sighed faintly in defeat. "Just.. make sure you come to your graduation this Sunday.. I hate to see you let your hard work go to waste.."

and there i passed her and left. i didn't wanna watch this bloody fight show. Vinsmoke was waiting for me just outside the hall.

"Was y/n there?" she asked, walking towards me

"Yeah.. but she's not coming back. I've lost all hope with that kid"

Vinsmoke soon lowered her eyes and took a deep breath. "Let me try get through her"

"Fine but i'm warning you now, she's a coconut that you can't seem to crack through"

she smiled and walked towards the door where y/n was. i didn't feel like waiting for them so i sat on the first row by the ring

It was two college students who were fighting to the death. One of them literally had a slit cut across his mouth, and blood was running out of his nostrils, while the other, had a huge bump on his forehead with purple eyebags~ how mortifying

i sat on the very far left 'coz now that i see it, their sweat and blood were getting flown at everyone but they were still chanting which was .. really weird and disgusting

5 minutes later, Vinsmoke came out and i got up from my seat and approached her
"What did you both talked about?"

she soon looks at me and did a little sly grin.
"it's a secret"

i gave her an offended shocked look. "Whatever. Let's just leave this dump"

Y/N's POV

"What? You too? What are you doing here?"

"Same thing the Empress is here for" she shrugged closing the door behind her

"Look. I don't want you both in here. I made this decision to myself and i will abide by it and if you really care, just let me do this"

"I'm not here to lecture you into choosing such dumb decision but .. you do know how much sacrifice this is right?"

"What do you mean?"

"Don't you love the Empress?"

.. why is she asking me that ..

"I do .. but .. i decided to let go of that.."

"Honestly Y/n. After your big game, what are you going to do then?"

i look at the ground not knowing what to answer

".. i don't know .. stuff"

"remember when i told you that it's okay to choose your ambition over what you want deep inside .. Well, doing that means you'll also be losing the one person you value most. Ambitions are simple to reach, but once you lose someone, it's impossible to get them back."

i glanced back up at her. "See you in your graduation Y/n"
