Feeling the weight of the moment, I changed into more comfortable clothes and stepped out onto the balcony of our apartment. The city sprawled out beneath, exposing the soft glow of streetlights. The distant hum of traffic and the occasional sirens created a scene in my thoughts.

I lit a cigarette, inhaling deeply as the smoke curled into the night air. The nicotine did little to soothe the emotions within me. Leaning against the railing, I stared into space, wrestling with my actions.

The words 'starting a family' echoed in my mind. Maybe I had been too sudden, pushing the boundaries of our relationship without considering Hancock's feelings. My readiness to move forward, fueled by love and perhaps a touch of naivety, had blindsided her.

I mean I understand. She's a busy businesswoman and so will I... I never even once thought of starting a family with anyone. Why? For starters, kids are a hindrance, they're annoying and expensive.

Aside from that... I feel like.. making a family with someone I truly love.. will complete that feeling

but that's impossible. Considering I don't have a man thing but there's that clinic shit stuff right where they can give you a kid or something..

As the smoke disappear into the air, I decided to give Hancock some space. I know I can't erase the words I have spoken, but I will control my actions moving forward. I took a deep breath and entered the apartment, finding her sitting on the couch, lost in thought.

"Hancock, I'm sorry," I began, my tone sincere. "I didn't mean to drop that bomb on you. It's just... I got carried away, and I should've thought it through."

She looked up, her expression softening. "Y/n, it's not that I don't want a future with you. It's just that it's a big step, and I need time to wrap my head around it."

I nodded, relieved that she wasn't really rejecting the idea. "I understand. I don't want to rush you into anything. We can take things at our own pace."

Hancock's gaze met mine, and a small smile played on her lips. "Thanks for understanding, Y/n but... could you quit that habit of yours."

I looked at her confused.

"Your smoking habit. You've been doing that since the day I met you."

"Oh..." I looked at the pack of cigarettes that was on my hand. That.. will be difficult. "...I'll try Hancock.." saying that, I threw the cigarettes into the trash can and sat beside her.

"I have to say... this is oddly refreshing," she breathed. "I would have never thought about ever going out with a brat."

"Well... it did take me a lot of tries to get you," I chuckled. "In the end... you chose me.."

her eyes softened as she smiled. "And you chose me as well."

"You're so beautiful, Hancock. It's unreal that you became mines. Sometimes, I wonder how I got so damn lucky."

she rolled her eyes playfully. "What can I say, I'm a blessed gift from the gods."

"Got that right."

Since we started dating, our connection had been filled with shared laughter, mutual respect, and some... PDA.. that made every day a little brighter But..one thing that remained untouched—intimacy.  When it came to more private moments, Hancock always seemed to retreat into shyness. It was a role reversal that never failed to amuse me. this woman, sculpted like a goddess, would blush and look away when things took a more intimate turn.

Yet, I was patient. I didn't mind waiting until she felt ready and comfortable.

I'm not fully an officer yet but I am studying hard. Especially because of my teacher... Hina, who is very terrifying.

As the leader of a Corp, she was a formidable force, and her tall stature, pink hair, and vibrant red lips only added to her scary presence. Spotting her smoking in the back of the building became a routine, despite the clear prohibition against it.

"Ready for another training, Y/n?" she smirked, exhaling smoke in my direction. I swatted it away, holding my breath.

"I would like it so much if you don't blow it directly to me," I say.

"What's the fuss about? We were just smoking together like a week ago, or shall I force you to remember it?" she said, closing the distance between us.

I pressed my finger against her shoulder, "I have a girlfriend Hina Sensei."

Her eyebrows arched up. "Oh? It's been almost a year, and I haven't once heard about you having one?"

"... She told me not to brag too much about it," I explained, a small smile playing on my lips.

Hina raised an eyebrow again, her curiosity piqued. "Is that so? Well, I suppose you've got your reasons."

As her students, Hina had a way of making us feel more like her subordinates, infusing a sense of professionalism into our interactions. Our routine included regular meetings, note-taking, and other tasks that reflected a more formal setting.

I returned home to find Hancock peacefully asleep on her mattress. I could tell she was exhausted from her day. Quietly, I draped a blanket over her before heading to the kitchen. It seemed she had ordered takeout. She had ordered Chinese food-- Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Egg roll, Beef and Broccoli, etc. Wow, why'd she order so much

"Darling, you home?" I heard her voice call as she entered in the kitchen.

"Yeah, just got back. Why did you order so much food?" I asked as she pulled a chair to sit beside me.

She shot me a quick glance before smirking, "You in that uniform never fails to amuse me."

I giggled, "I know. That's why I'm not taking it off tonight."

"Mmm, yeah?" she responded.

I nodded with a grin, "Yep!"

She chuckled, "Well, you didn't eat lunch earlier, so... I bought whatever you might like."

I gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Thank you." I couldn't help but blurt out something bold and slightly cringe-worthy, "How about we skip dinner and go... straight to dessert?"

AND THE WORST FLIRTER AWARD GOES TO—-
ME

I flushed upon saying that, hopefully she'll get what I mean. "Oh.. I didn't order any desserts.."

yep... killing myself..

".... I was kidding..."

Hancock understood the underlying meaning, but it was clear she wasn't ready. She excused herself to the bathroom, taking a deep breath.

"I'm a damn Empress, Goddess of Heaven and Earth... why on earth do I always get flustered when she mentions that," she whispered to herself.

Returning, Y/n was already eating and her mouth was filled--- Gosh-- can she eat more.. slowly..

Hancock brushed it off as she thought of an idea...
"Y/n... it's been long since... we had dinner outside.. wanna maybe... have dinner tomorrow after your course?"

Y/n was surprised, the Empress taking the first initiative? "Of course!" she replied, ecstatic.

Empress smiled. Maybe... tomorrow will be different.
