Three hours.
I've been dealing with these two ladies who were trying to press charges for their pathetic sons for three hours. I think I'm about to go insane.
"Do something about her right now!" Hag #1 screeches to the exhausted police officer. "She needs to be arrested!"
I look at the police officer with a mustache, Brandon, who happened to be a very nice guy. I can't believe he has to deal with this kind of bullshit all the time. The guy looks like he could use a break.
"Ma'am, no." Brandon says for perhaps the millionth time. "We cannot just arrest or judge a teenager with a crime just because you say so. Please calm down."
I lean my back into my chair and slouch down, wrapping my cardigan around my body as I yawned. This shit was making me bored and sleepy and I didn't even get the chance to eat something this morning. Hungry me was not a fun me.
"—she ruined my son's face! How can you let such a violent woman walk around? She's dangerous!"
I laugh, "Oh, you can't blame that one all on me. Give yourself some credit for his face, he did come out of your vagina after all."
Hag #1 blinks before letting out a dramatic gasp, "Are you calling me ugly?"
"Of course not. You look so doll-like with your pretty red hair and red lips and those fancy pearls." I smile sweetly. "If there was a female Chucky, I imagine she'd look just like you. Isn't that great?"
Brandon starts laughing, receiving a hostile glare from both the ladies forcing him to clamp his mouth shut. He coughs and looks at me, "Maybe you should wait outside while I talk to these ladies?"
"Say less." I breathe out, hopping up to my feet. "Their faces are making my stomach upset."
"You brat!" Hag #2 slams her palm down at the table.
"You wench!" I mimic her action, slapping the table as well which successfully manages to piss her off more.
"Alright, alright," Brandon chuckles, opening the door to the small room we were in. "Out, Aspen. I'll call you back inside in a while."
I nod, shoving my hands in the front pockets of my sweatpants before striding out. Brandon closes the door and I sit on a chair, grabbing my phone.
I see texts from Kesam and I open them, sighing when I read them. She had left the house an hour after me because she had to help her mom out at the restaurant. She was curious where I was and asked me to call her whenever I got a chance to read these.
This only left one option for me. I needed April's help in getting out of this dilemma. I didn't want to think about what stupid Levi and his wife would do if they find out what's going on.
I call April's cellphone repeatedly, growing nervous after each call she wouldn't pick up. Bouncing my leg up and down, I sit for awhile, switching between sending texts to her phone and calling her.
All of it proves to be useless, so I try calling the home phone instead. She might just not be by her phone or it's dead or something. Thinking about that gives me some hope so I call the home phone instead.
