"Ew?" I gasp, slightly offended. "What are you smelling, your ass?"
Her jaw clenches. "No, it's the stench of an ugly bitch in front of me."
"I know you're not talking with those pilgrim steppers on your damn feet."
What the fuck even were those shoes?
"And that haircut of yours is a threat to our community but you don't hear me complaining."
"My haircut? Girl, yours makes you look like the budget version of Dora."
That one cracks her because her face turns red and she sighs heavily, "Okay, that's a fair one but it's my mom's fault for giving me fucking coconut hair bangs when I wanted curtain styled ones."
I give her a once over while eating my ice cream before shrugging. "You have longer hair strands up front so the bangs still look manageable if you go to a proper hair stylist."
"Really? My brothers won't stop making fun of me for it so I need to look into that more. Maybe you'd look better with your hair- wait." Her face drops and she scrunches up her nose again, giving me a look.
I lick some more of my ice cream as I watch her. "Continue, I want to hear my hair tips too."
"I hate your fucking guts, why the hell am I having a conversation with you right now?" She says it more to herself than she does to me and I was going to snap back at her when I paused.
I don't even know this girl. She most likely has problems with April, not me.
I may need to start wearing a name tag or someone who has beef with April might just try to kill me.
Sighing, I clear things up. "Actually, I'm not April Beckett. I'm her twin, Aspen Wilson. I'm new in town so you haven't seen me before."
She blinks slowly, her jaw falling open. "You're kidding."
I shake my head. "Nah, I wouldn't ever joke about having April as my twin for fun."
"She's a fucking nightmare."
I can't help but be curious about that. "Why do you hate her again?"
Her eyes brighten up and she smiles. "Come on, let's go grab milkshakes first." She hooks her arm through mine and pushes open the door to the ice cream shop I just walked out of.
I laugh at the oddness of the situation. "We were fighting less than ten minutes ago."
"Yeah, but that's because I thought you were that witch." Her facial expression wasn't as hostile anymore and it felt like I was talking to another person. "I'm Kesam by the way."
"That's a pretty name and did you seriously mean what you said about my hair?"
She pauses and looks at me, nodding. "I meant every word. You look exactly like your sister and she reminds me of one of the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls."
