"I will say, I don't know what he is, but it seems like the ointment and our magic works on him," Patton said, watching the unconscious stranger that Roman had brought in.

The ointment Patton was talking about was one that heals injuries fast, not instantly but pretty close. Of course, Patton still wrapped up the injuries since it will take a day. As for the magic, Patton had to pull water out of the stranger's lungs, which worried Roman a bit.

"I wonder where he came from, maybe there's a whole colony from where he came from!" Roman mused, he couldn't help but feel giddy at the thought of knowing the answers to his questions that this mystery man brought.

"Logan will definitely be interested, he'll want to ask the kiddo so many questions!"

"Do you think he speaks our language?"

"It's possible, if not Logan will find a way to communicate with him."

"I hope he does."

They froze when the stranger groaned in pain. His eyes fluttered open, startling Roman since his eyes were mismatched, one green and one purple. Roman frowned in confusion when the stranger tensed upon seeing them, he looked afraid.

"Hey kiddo!" Patton greeted. "Can you understand me?"

The stranger nodded, almost in shock. Well, it turns out he does know their language. He started to slowly sit up, wincing in pain slightly and Roman moved forward to help him.

The second the prince touched him, the stranger flinched back hard and shouted in a hoarse voice, "Don't touch me!"

Roman pulled his hands back in shock, then frowned again. "I was just trying to help you."

"Ro..." Patton warned.

The stranger hugged himself. "Just... don't. Please."

"Rude much, I was the one that saved you!"

"Well you shouldn't have," he mumbled with a slight growl, though it was loud enough for Roman to hear.

"Unbelievable," Roman huffed. "Whatever, I'll just leave!"

"Roman," Patton called just as the prince left and closed the door behind him.

Roman frowned as he flew away from the infirmary. What the hell was up with that guy?

"Ah, Roman, perfect!" Logan called. "I was looking for you."

Logan was the king's advisor, though he was pretty young for the job. He had a small tan, dark red hair, and bright orange eyes. He fashioned a tie out of woven grass, saying that giants wear it. He's a huge nerd, slightly obsessed with giants, though there wasn't much proof that they're real.

"Hey, the stranger woke up if you want to question him," Roman informed him. "Though, he's really rude. I mean, I saved his life and he just told me I shouldn't have!"

"I'm sure he's just scared, he almost died after all. You shouldn't be too hard on him since he's clearly from far away, and has no idea where he is. But that's not why I was looking for you, you're being summoned by your parents and the elders. They're in the council room."

"Ugh, I hate the elders! They're so bossy and... elderly..."

"Yes... that's why they're called the elders..."

"That's not what I mean. But I'm going! You can go see the stranger, he's with your boyfriend right now."

"I have three, but I'm assuming you mean Patton since he's the only one that works in the infirmary."

Roman sighed as Logan left, and the prince started to make his way to the council room. He used to be excited about being king one day, however the elders had dampened that excitement. They're so traditional and formal, and super stuffy! Hopefully they're dead by the time he becomes king.

But, they're necessary or whatever. So, Roman straightened his shirt and fixed his hair before he reached the door that was carved on the side of the tree. He smiled at the guards, who opened the door for him to let him in. Once in, the door closed and he stood before the council.

He smiled at his mother, who had dark skin and white hair. Her eyes and wings were green, Remus mostly took after her. She was always so sweet and supportive, ready to do what she needed to for the colony and her sons.

His father wasn't as kind, don't get him wrong, Roman loved him and he wasn't mean but he was usually the one to make hard decisions. Sometimes, unfair decisions. His father had red eyes and wings, his hair was dark and his skin fair. Roman wouldn't lie, he was nervous about how his father would react to this stranger being brought into the colony. His father and the elders were always paranoid.

"Prince Roman," the king formally greeted him. "Thank you for joining us."

"It's my pleasure," Roman informed them, bowing slightly.

"We were wondering what your stance is on this stranger," Annabelle, one of the elders and the only female of the council that wasn't the queen.

"Well, he had just woken up and seemed... confused."

"Well of course he would, but we don't care about that," Ignis, another stuffy member, told him. "Is he a threat?"

"O-oh, well I don't believe he will be. He has no signs of magic, though magic does seem to affect him. He's small, and very skinny. He does have claws, but they're not big or noticeable. I doubt they're very sharp, and they're probably only used for climbing-"

"I still don't trust him," Annabelle cut Roman off. "He could be sneaky, like a rat. He could destroy us in some other way."

"Respectfully, Elder Annabelle, I doubt we would allow that."

"It would still be easier to just kill him and clean our hands of this," Magnis said. He of course jumped the gun the most.

"He could have valuable information," the queen offered. "If we execute him, we won't ever be able to hear what he has to say."

"Thank you, Roman, you're dismissed," the king said.

Roman blinked in surprise, that was quick. Well, this is why he hates the elders. They think he's too young to actually contribute anything, they never listen.

"Very well," Roman responded. He bowed again before he left the room. Once out, he sighed heavily.

"They didn't listen to anything you had to say, huh?" one of the guards asked.

"They never do, why even bother summoning me?"

"Hey, you'll be king one day, then we'll all have to listen to you," the other guard tried to cheer him up.

"Yeah, one day. Keep up the good work you two."
