Roman sighed as he walked towards the rooms after dinner, finally done with shadowing his father. Apparently after dinner, the king has time for himself for the rest of the day so the prince was dismissed.

He was a bit nervous since Virgil didn't appear for dinner, but according to Remus, Patton had most likely forced him to rest. So Roman planned to spend the rest of his night resting with his borrower.

He turned to Virgil's room, about to enter before remembering to knock. He didn't want to scare him, so he decided it would be best to announce his presence.

When he opened the door, Virgil seemed to have sat up from laying down. The blanket seemed to have fallen off of him and piled on his lap, and he looked half awake.

"Sorry, didn't mean to wake you up," Roman whispered just loud enough for him to hear.

Virgil groaned and fell back down into bed. His hair seemed damp and he wore soft pajamas, so Roman guessed he had taken a bath before his nap.

The prince walked over to the bed and crawled in, throwing the blanket over the two of them before hugging the borrower close to his chest. Virgil sighed and nuzzled closer, grabbing Roman's shirt.

The moment Roman held him, his eyes flashed and with his magic he felt several bruises and scrapes.

"Dear stars, why are you still covered in injuries? You should have gotten them healed." The prince made quick work of letting his magic flow into Virgil, healing all of his small injuries.

"I'm not a delicate flower," the borrower mumbled, though he melted in Roman's arms.

"I know. Today's been a long day, huh?" Roman chuckled.

"No, short actually. 'M just tired," Virgil hummed, not bothering to open his eyes. He yawned and asked, "How has your day been?"

"So long, I am not looking forward to an eternity of that."

"Well, good thing it won't happen for a while. Your dad has a lot of life left in him."

"He better not die anytime soon, I'm not ready to be the next king just yet."

"You'll do fine, I believe in you," Virgil mumbled, pressing his head against Roman's chest.

"Thank you my love." Virgil hummed softly at the nickname. "So, what have you been up to today?"

"I did my usual training, Patton decided to watch. Then I found your brother and we fought. I almost won several times, but according to Janus your brother has also been improving so it's been challenging. I'm going to win tomorrow though. After we finished up, Patton and I did some yoga and got food. Then I cleaned up and fell asleep."

"Not too bad, I'm glad to hear that you're taking care of yourself."

"I can't believe you put Patton in charge of making me rest. I would have been just fine."

Roman laughed, carding his hand through Virgil's hair making the borrower hum a bit. "I have to disagree. I bet if Patton didn't make you rest, you would have gone right back into training by yourself again."

"And?"

"You need to let your body rest. I will keep you in bed all day if you push yourself past your breaking point."

"As long as you're here to cuddle me, I'm fine with that."

"Virgil..."

"Fine! I'll rest more..."

"Good, because I'm not sure I can heal sore muscles. They're technically not an injury, so my magic is useless against it."

"That sucks... Well at least you healed the bruises your brother gave me. He does not hold back."

"I can't wait to be there to see you beat his ass. He certainly deserves it."

"He's a good sparring partner. It's a shame we didn't fight before I started training again, because you would have had a chance to beat me in a fight. Not anymore."

"You're lucky my magic is healing, otherwise I would have had a chance."

Virgil lifted his head and stuck his tongue out at Roman. "You're too big and slow, an easy target."

"You're so mean to me, little mouse," the prince pouted.

The borrower laughed, finally opening his eyes. He couldn't help but stare into Roman's eyes, a rosy gold color that was just so beautiful and unique.

"Can I kiss you?" Virgil found himself asking. He wasn't talking about a small forehead or cheek kiss, and the prince knew this.

Roman nodded with a bright smile and the two leaned closer to each other. The prince blushed brightly as their lips connected.

Virgil smiled into the kiss, ignoring how hard his heart pounded. Roman tasted like raspberries, and though the borrower had a sneaking suspicion that it was only because he most likely ate that for dinner, he couldn't stop himself from melting into the sweet taste.

They separated and Virgil sighed, looking back up to Roman's star filled eyes. They both smiled at each other, and the prince found himself laughing.

"I love you so much," he giggled. "I'm yours, all yours."

"You're beautiful," Virgil said breathlessly. "I'm so lucky to be yours. So very lucky. I promise I will make you the happiest person alive."

Roman tightened his grip on Virgil, holding him closer. "I already am."
