TW: poisoning, though there's no reaction yet

"My head hurts," Remus complained, laying on Patton's lap.

"Maybe you should have protected it when you were fighting Virgil," Janus told him, laying against Logan.

"You'll be okay, dear," Patton told him, running his hand through the prince's hair. "Would you like to go to one of the healers? I don't have the magic to heal it myself."

"Nah, I just want to lay on your lap. You're really warm."

"Well I don't believe you have a concussion," Logan said. "So you should be fine."

"Thank you for the concern, my love."

"You are fine," Janus told him. "Virgil didn't hit you that hard, he was fighting you in front of your father. I noticed that he went easy against you, I fully believe he could beat you in a fight if need be."

"Ooh! What do you think I have to do to get him to actually fight me then?"

"Nothing, don't try it."

"Something stupid and reckless, got it!"

"Well, I'm going to be keeping you on a tight leash for a while."

"Well I'll just do it in a few months then."

"You mean after he's had several months of training? Yeah, then you definitely won't be able to beat him. Not only is he a fast learner, but he's a natural fighter."

"Yes, most likely from past experiences," Logan added.

"You know, we never figured out why he got in those fights," Remus pointed out.

"He was clearly uncomfortable talking about it. Actually, I feel a bit bad since he seems to be uncomfortable talking about his past at all."

"Do you think he killed someone?"

"No! He's too sweet," Patton said. "He wouldn't hurt anyone."

"He hurt me," Remus pouted.

"You literally asked for it. You didn't have to fight and you didn't protect the face. That was your own fault," Janus told him.

"I like him," Patton said.

"You like everyone, sweetie."

"Flippers likes him too!"

"Flippers is like you, he likes everyone."

"Virgil is interesting," Logan agreed. "We talked about stars a bit. He's told me about a few constellations that he's heard humans talk about, it's so fascinating! I hope to learn more about the humans."

"Those are the giants, right?" Remus asked.

"Yes! Virgil calls them humans, saying that's what they call themselves. I wish I could meet one myself!"

"Actually, you might be able to."

"Remus, don't," Janus warned.

"Janus and I saw one!"

"What?!" Logan almost jumped to his feet. "And you didn't tell me?"

"He was across the river!" Janus defended himself. "I don't want you going over there, it's too dangerous."

"I wouldn't be so foolish." Janus raised his eyebrow at his boyfriend. "Fine! I would! But, if you tell me everything about them then I promise I won't go across the river to go looking for the human."

"He looked a lot like us," Remus explained. "But his ears were round, and he had no wings."

"Ah, so you believe it's a male?"
