Virgil fidgeted with his tail as he walked out of the infirmary with some guards and on branches over to where the royals are supposed to be. Apparently he was being summoned to meet them in the throne room, so he walked on the tree branches over there since he couldn't fly.

He thankfully had some food, though he didn't eat much because of his small appetite. He had half of what was apparently a blueberry. It tasted good, sweet but bitter.

He asked Logan and Patton several questions. What he understands is that they're fairies, and they all held some level of magic. They had never met any giants, and everything they had was made by themselves. Virgil didn't ask too many questions.

After a bit of climbing, a woven door was pushed out of the way and Virgil was brought inside a tree. The whole inside seemed carved out, and Virgil found himself following a spiraling staircase up higher. He was glad there were little windows, since he was afraid of getting vertigo.

Finally, after several steps, Virgil was brought inside a throne room. His ears drooped further down as his anxiety spiked higher, if that was even possible.

The queen and king sat together in the middle. The king had a threatening face, he held a neutral gaze and yet he overwhelmed the room with power. The queen seemed a bit disappointed, but she looked kinder. On either side of them were the two prince's.

Roman had a neutral expression, almost bored. He was avoiding Virgil's gaze, looking down. The other prince looked a bit like Roman, the moment Virgil stepped into the room he brightened up and didn't hide his curiosity.

"So, this is the mystery creature that my son had found," the king stated.

Virgil found himself bowing, that's what you do in front of royalty right?

"What's your name?" the queen asked.

"I-" Virgil cleared his throat when his voice cracked. "I'm Virgil."

"It doesn't matter," the king waved the discussion away, and the queen slumped slightly in disappointment. "The council had reached a decision on what to do with him. He's a stranger, we don't know what he is capable of so he is a threat. He's to be executed first thing tomorrow."

The announcement surprised almost everyone. Both the princes' looked at their father with confusion and almost disappointment.

Virgil took a step back in fear, his heart beating faster and he found it hard to breathe. He opened his mouth to say something, but Roman beat him to it.

"Father, you can't be serious! Look at him, he's no threat! He didn't ask to be taken here, at least give him a chance to prove himself trustworthy! Surely we aren't an unfair species!"

The queen smiled, though the king looked slightly upset. Before he could say anything, his wife clapped her hands once and stated, "Very well. Until he's proven to be untrustworthy, Virgil will be your responsibility."

"Wait, that's not what I-"

"Everyone is dismissed," the queen continued, pressing for everything to be dropped. "Roman, please take him to the spare room across from yours."

Roman deflated. "Yes mother."

Virgil tensed as the prince stood up and flew over. Neither said anything, but Virgil started to follow after one last glance at the rest of the royal family. The other prince was giggling slightly, the queen was smiling brightly, and the king glared at the borrower. Virgil decided it would be safer to follow the prince.

The fairy was moving fast, clearly angry. He was probably still upset about their last encounter, and now being in charge of him seemed to anger Roman. Virgil wasn't too happy about it either, he would rather they just sent him on his way, telling him to never bother them.
