"Ready?"
"Yep," I smiled and he led me to his Mustang before pulling up on the road. The drive was short and we end up at one of our favourite restaurants.
"Three-course meal," He smiles
Justin's parents were rich so money wasn't a big deal for either of us but he didn't have the kind of money to just throw around. Date nights like these with three course meals happened about once a month or at most twice.
"Yay!" I smiled
We were half way through the dinner when my phone buzzed three times consecutively. All the messages were from Vivien and before I could open it an incoming call popped up from her and I answered the call.
"Hey?"
She sobbed and choked into the phone hiccupping and my frown deepened
"Oh my God, what happened? Are you okay?" I questioned and Justin watched me picking around his plate.
"Can you just come over?" she sniffed
Vivi cried once in a while and most times the reason was always her parents.
"I'll be over in thirty," I told her ending the call and looking at Justin
"We need to go, Vivi's not feeling good," He nodded in understanding and we left the date only having the starters. I felt sick about the money we wasted but I chided myself for being worried about food over my best friend.
We reached Vivi's house in a flash and I rang the bell as Justin locked up the car.
Vivi opened the door her face red from crying, she had a hoodie covering her body halfway past her legs. I walked in with Justin and he stayed in the living room while I and Vivi moved upstairs to her room. Her bed was a huge mess and her things were scattered all over the place, I noticed her mirror had a crack on it splitting it into two.
"Oh my God, what happened here," I gasped taking a seat at the edge of her massive bed
"I..." She sighed "I and Will went on the date, it was good and all then I asked if he wanted to come over and he was like sure so we came over and since Chris is having a sleepover with his friends I thought we would have a wonderful time,"
"So what happened?"
"So we came up to my room and we were drinking some alcohol I found in my dad's bar and watching a movie and I decided to make my move, we started kissing and God he's lips are so soft, we had already gotten halfway his shirt was gone and mine was gone too then he stopped kissing me and told me he couldn't do this, that he can't afford to be a one night stand and he doesn't think it's a good idea to be sleeping with each other on the first date. I tried to get him back in the mood but he didn't want to do anything with me he said I was drunk and sleeping together would be a bad idea and-"
"Wait, you're telling me the reason all this mess is in your room and why your mirror is smashed into two is because Will refused to sleep with you?" I asked incredulously
"God, Vivi he's trying to show you some respect,"
"I just wanted to get in his pants, God" She groaned in frustration
"Vivi you're overreacting,"
"What do you mean?" She questioned exasperatedly
Viv could be a drama queen sometimes but this was beyond the line and I instantly knew something else was making her mad but Will seemed to be the best place to direct her anger.
"Vivi," I coaxed softly "What's wrong?"
"Did your mom say something?" I questioned
"Yes she did and she had a whole lot to say!" She replied yelling the tears spilling out
I was by her side in a flash hugging her, she held me tightly her nails digging into my arm, as she hiccupped and coughed into my chest while I tried to calm her down.
"What did she say?"
"I called her to ask about College this afternoon because a lot of people have been talking about college and I realized I haven't spoken to my parents about it, so I called her and she didn't seem fazed or worried. I called her out on it and she yelled right back,"
Vivi paused for a moment wiping away her tears "She told me I didn't need to go to college because I am going to waste her money by going, knowing I wouldn't come out with a degree useful enough to get me a job. She told me she'd rather I lived off their money as I've been doing than them having to pay for college only to come out useless,"
I didn't know exactly what to say since I knew my father would never speak to me like that I comforted her in the best way I could giving her a hug and rubbing her back.
Vivi fell asleep about an hour later when I managed to calm her down.
I closed her room door heading downstairs to find Justin sleeping on the sofa. I smiled to myself sauntering over to the sofa placing a kiss on his head before softly shaking him to wake up.
"Babe?" I shook him and he stirred, his eyes flutterred open before he looked at me
"That was long," He yawned and I smiled
"Yep, her mom was pretty mean to her," I explained the whole incident to Justin on the way back home skipping out the Will story and by the time we get home it's a little past ten.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" Justin asked and I nodded before waving at him and heading inside.
